I took the BEC exam today (my last exam) and I don’t feel very good about it. I am wondering if it is possible to pass of I bombed the written part. I ran out of time. I feel like I answered one of the questions very well. I managed to get something on the the other two questions but it wasn’t much at all but I figured some possible points would be better than no points. I also feel like I got 3 moderate MCQ test let’s but am not 100% positive. I know there are a handful of questions I missed but I also know there were quite a few I felt confidant about.

I don’t know what to think or feel about this exam. I just know that if I fail it’s going to be really upsetting since it was the last exam and I passed the other 3 on the 1st try.

    Thanks for your input!

I had the same experience, and also thought I probably barely missed a 75. Got an 85. While this is absolutely no indication of how you did, that kind of response is likely what you were looking to hear. Good luck.

“I am wondering if it is possible to pass of I bombed the written part.”

On the AICPA's own site it states that you can pass the exam if were to get a zero on the written SIMs as the SIMs are only worth 15%. Possible? Yes. Likely? No, as you would have to score very high on the MCQs.

Since the written portion is only 15%, sure.

I wouldn't feel that bad about it, though. If you think you answered one of the essays very well and attempted the other two, you probably will end up getting more points than you think.

That's pretty much how I felt about my essays, actually. I thought I did great on one, one was OK, and the last one I just used as much technical jargon as possible while keeping my sentences grammatically correct. I passed.

as long as you feel you did good on the MC portion I think there is a chance you will pass! When I took it, I ran out of time too and left one of the WC questions completely blank. It might have been the pretest one, but who knows. I thought i was gonna be borderline because I felt I did OK on the MC portion but only answered 2/3 of the WC. I ended up getting an 83. You just have to wait and see!

Has anyone performed well on the WC and still failed?

I feel pretty comfortable with my WC, but I really don't know about the MCQs I don't think I bombed them, in fact, I kinda thought the testlets got harder but I'm second guessing myself now. It's going to be a long 2 weeks.

I'm just wondering if anyone got their results as performed better than most in WC, yet still failed. I hope that makes sense.

I got my score and I passed, looks like iw asnt int he bubble. My state was just delayed in puttin gup the scores. In my feedback it says i did weaker on MC and stronger on written. My written communication was solid, I think that helped me pass.Otherwise i feel like the multiple choice is so random that its really hard to study for them.

    [A] - 86 7-2013
    [F] - 70 - Retake May 23rd 2014 80
    - 10/29/14
    [R] - 11/30/14

Hi Yamar. I am also interested to know Mnm87's answer to your question above.

For your REG, how did you get your score stretched to (huge) 21 points more on your retake? What did you do differently on your revenge?

    Thanks.
