    Hi guys,

I sat for AUD yesterday and wow – the MCQ were very tricky and the SIMS were very tricky as well. I didn’t finish 1 and then another half of a SIM. Can I still pass this exam or are my chances diminished? Can anyone share their experience? Would really like to know! Has the opposite also happened where you thought you passed, but, failed instead?

    Thanks!!

man, such encouraging words of hope. I personally didn't walk out of the exam feeling like it was easy. However, I definitely didnt think it was getting difficult. Still don't really understand the questions becoming “wordier”. asked for an example and havent gotten one, which is fine. personally, as time progresses waiting for my score, I feel that I may have not passed. I question my pursuit of taking these tests. hopefully i can end 2014 with two sections completed.

    BEC: 72,72, 77
    AUD: 47, 63

Is it still possible though to pass the AUD exam if we didn't finish 1 sim and then another half of another sim? I feel like the chances of passing are very slim.

I felt like i failed when i walked out. The sims were incredibly difficult. I wanted to quit right then and there lol. My parents and my girlfriend talked me out of it and i went on studying for the next part. Three weeks later, a pass with flying colors. So the moral of the story is that there is no point in trying to figure out how you did. You just gotta wait for the results and pray for the best. This test is truly like no other.

    AUD - 89 07/02/14 (Becker practice exam: 74, 83)
    REG - 92 08/18/14 (Becker practice exam: 75, 84)
    BEC - 83 10/03/14 (Becker practice exam: 83, 70)
    FAR - 91 11/24/14 (Becker practice exams: 64, 77)

Passthecpa7, yes it is mathmatically possible to pass the exam under those conditions especially if one of the Sims you didn't fill out were pretest. I always spam the zero button or select random choices of I'm short on time and go back and correct them after I get to them

    FAR- 82
    REG- 93
    AUD- 89
    BEC- 88

@passtheCPA7 i didn't have any problem with the sims when I took audit. I just judged my feeling of failure on the mcq. However, I had an awful feeling leaving financial because I didn't have enough time to plug zeros in the fields that were blank. I was convinced that cost me the exam and I passed. I also realized i did a calculation wrong with 2 mins left in the exam so I had to redo the entire page in two mins. I felt iffy about the mcq for far and terrible about the sims and I still passed. It was a 75 but still a passing score. Hope this helped.

I didn't think I failed, but I certainly did not feel confidant I passed. My problem was I bought heavily in to the “your second and third testlets have to seem more difficult for you to be doing well on the adaptive MCQ” theory. However I felt like they were all easy and thus told myself I must have missed a lot of them. I also told this to my friends and co-workers when they asked how I felt I did. I felt stupid about it when I found out I got a 99. I guess that meant I was getting the more difficult testlets but just did not find them that difficult.

BEC was the only test I felt good about right after taking it and I did well on them all so I don't know if you should put a lot of stock in to how you feel you did.

    FAR - 90
    REG - 90
    BEC - 91
    AUD - 99

@ jcan9703 – how do you feel like you failed your AUD exam, but, only to pass with flying colors? I mean an 89 means you did really well.

I would love to hear from some more people who took AUD, and thought they failed, but, only to end up passing. I find out my results this week, and it's truly nerve wrecking. I really felt like I failed my AUD exam as I flagged like 17 questions and 2 of the sims I had no clue on.

@Hari That was my experience as well. I felt that I had a really good grasp on the material going in to the test but kept wondering why the testlets didn't seem to get harder while I was taking the exam. I was in no way confident that I would pass. It turned out that I just knew the material well enough to pass and the testlets weren't going to get harder.

Contrast that to my two most recent testing experiences, where I thought my testlets were getting harder and that I was doing okay on the exam. It turned out that I didn't know the material well enough and the testlets got harder because I had gaps in my knowledge of the material.

The bottom line is that it's hard to truly know how you're going to score until you get your results. My goal going forward is to stop trying to focus on if the testlets are getting harder during the test and just focus on each individual question.

I was 100% convinced I failed. There were like 15 I marked in the first testlet alone – not a good sign. After that it was basically impossible to tell if it got harder, because I started marking them only if I was unsure, and thought looking back would make a difference. There were several questions on topics I only glanced over. I told everyone in the world I was certain I failed, and I got a 95. I think because of the low pass rate, audit has a large “curve”. So you can do worse and even get a better score. Plus, it is really hard to tell if audit is getting harder. Another reason I was convinced my exam could not have gotten harder was that each testlet took me exactly 30 minutes. I figured if it was harder it should take longer, like in BEC and REG.

In my experience (not just AUD) if you you think you legitimately failed your exam, you probably passed.

Legitimately thought I failed and I almost did. So i was pretty much right.

@ cprb19 – how many questions did you flag in total for your testlets or how many questions were you “unsure” about from the 90 MCQ? Also – how many sims were you confident on? Congrats on passing!

I think i flagged around 3 or 4 in the first one, and around 10-15 for my last two. probably more for my last one. As for my sims, I had two research questions, both of which I definitely got right and a couple other easy ones i probably got right. Also had a journal entry sim which i probably got half right (i studied for aud not far) and a couple confusing sims which i completely guessed on. one of them had to do with risk and i didnt know if they wanted to know whether the acceptable level of risk increased or deceased or if it causes the level of risk in general to increase or decrease. not very clear directions but ya.

    Crap

That was my assessment as well. Flagged 3 and then 15 in last two. Same with the sims….

    I may be close

was it 10 or 15 in each or in total?
