Hey all, trying to keep the flame alive here. Has anyone had a really bad FAR experience (heavy computational all the way, tricky, etc) and left with a total fail feeling yet found out they passed?

Out of all the CPA exams I took I thought I failed FAR the most. I immediately opened the Wiley Book within a day or so and started to restudy. One month later, I get my score release and discover that I passed with an 82.

Amazing! Now after each exam, I usually gauge my first experience with FAR on whether I passed or not. Seems to be working, but I will find out if I am right with REG in a week or so.

@rvcpa. I took the FAR a couple weeks ago. I thought I did ok on mcq but they were progressively harder. Then I was nailed by the Sims. Not sure what to think I tried to muscle my way through it and made sure I did my best. Hopefully we can all get good news with the next score release. I have 4 kids and 2 under the age of 18 months….so I dont want any setbacks.

gregt60- your experience is the same one I had. I hope that we racked up enough points on the mcq's and manage to pass. This is my second time taking FAR, I really dont want to restudy it again.

I was so ready to take out my Becker FAR book to restudy after my exam. After the simulations from hell, I so thought I failed and would have to retake the exam in April. So relieved to find out I passed with a 77! Not a fantastic score, but I'll take any passing grade I can at this point!

I guess it's true what they say….you don't really know whether you passed or not until you officially get your scores.

    FAR - 77
    AUD - 75
    REG - 78
    BEC - 83

Yes. I ran out of time. An entire simulation tab was empty when time expired. I hoped it was a pretest tab. I also guessed on a bunch of MC questions. I was about to schedule the retake when i got home, but I decided to wait just in case. I passed with a 78. 😀

*This is my 2nd attempt at the CPA exam. For all of you who have failed this exam many times, given up on it, or taken a break like me, remember that it is still possible to finish what you started...failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently 🙂

Wow I did not expect I'd get to post here but I just found out I passed FAR with a 79!! I'm not someone who scores high either (not that I care for anything above a 75). I had a 78 on BEC and a 75 on AUD and now a 79 on FAR leave just REG to take down.

I started this thread shortly after I took my exam (2nd attempt) and reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally did not think I could have passed given the test I saw was so hard and different than my 1st attempt as well as different from most of the postings I was seeing.

For those of you going through the wait or biting your nails off, take some comfort in that you really can't tell how these things are going to go. Heck, read my experience on the thread “FAR – Exam Experience page 18”. Good luck to everyone! Keep the faith!

Walked out of Q1 2014 FAR exam feeling very confident that I passed comfortable and got a 62. Let me tell you that it was maddening. That's scary to think that you passed comfortable and did not come close. This was my first exam. It seems strange to me that college educated people, many with Masters degrees, that have taken accounting test for the better part of their adult life cannot gauge the results of a test. In college you can pretty much tell with a high degree of certainty what grade you got on a particular test based on how you felt after the exam. This goes both ways, some people think they bombed certain sections but pass. I am not a conspiracy theorist but am I the only one that finds this strange?
