I am just wondering, what is the proper allocation of time for REG? I am thinking of either 40/40/40/60 or 30/30/30/90. Thoughts?

I don't know what you mean by 40/40/40/60, but I am allocating a total of 200 hours to study for REG. I study about 30 hours per week.

    FAR 12/3/14, 87
    AUD 2/3/14, 90
    BEC 4/1/14, 88
    REG 5/27/14, 94

I was referring to the time on the actual exam. I am just wondering what would be a good allocation of of the 180 minutes for the 3 MC testlets and the simulations testlet.

I haven't taken it yet but based on my other 3 exams I like to shoot for 30 minutes or less per MCQ testlet for a 3 hour exam and 40-45 minutes per MCQ on the 4 hour exams. Obviously you don't want to leave points on the table so make sure you spend enough time giving the question a fair read, but if you don't know the answer at all don't spend 3-4 minutes on it when you could be scooping up valuable points using the AL on a SIM.

I would aim for 30/30/30/90… The sims on REG can be complicated and you'll want as much time as possible to search the authoritative literature.

    REG - 76 (7/13)
    FAR - 83 (8/13)
    BEC - 87 (10/13)
    AUD - 84 (1/14)

Sorry for the confusion. I think my brain is fried from studying too much. Ha ha.

I always shoot to have an hour left on the SIMS, so I hope to spend about 40 minutes on each MCQ testlet.

    FAR 12/3/14, 87
    AUD 2/3/14, 90
    BEC 4/1/14, 88
    REG 5/27/14, 94

I agree with dowd and tyndil. That's the rough breakdown I used when I took REG a couple weeks ago.

    BEC 7/12/13 - 84
    AUD 8/31/13 - 86
    REG 4/11/14 - 84
    FAR 5/30/14 - 88

lol, Lindrobe, I'm with you for two reasons: I was also confused by Determined's original post and don't think more than one hour for the Sims is necessary. But, since you never know what SIMS you get (i.e. possibly two research), it may take a while to find the answers in the wonderful IRC. In conclusion, don't rush through the testlets, thus making silly mistakes, just to leave exactly 90 minutes for the Sims.

    FAR 75
    AUD 74, 82
    REG 58, 74, 83
    BEC 68, 75
    Licensed 7.1.14!!!
