So I take Reg (7/14) and Far (8/12). I’m already behind on Far because I changed the date on reg twice. I still don’t fee real good about reg, but I”m going in anyway. My dilemma is if I should use the last window for Bec and Aud or reg and far retakes. My nts expires 8/15 so that’s why i’m going for far. ( failing is a waste of money and so is not trying). Help guys…..

I vote for focusing on retakes, since they are somewhat fresh on your mind.

Or you can squeeze BEC into the window on September 10th.

    FAR: (5/24/16) | (7/16/16)

    AUD: (9/07/16)

    BEC: TBA

    REG: TBA

    FAR: (05/24/16) | (07/15/16) | (10/22/16)
    AUD: (09/07/16) | (11/29/16) |

@sang, Thanks for your advice….I will consider that. I thought about being prepared for retakes. I guess I'm just tired. I want those letters so tired is not an excuse. I guess it's not a forum decision or discussion, so I'll sit down and get my game plan together and stop thinking out loud. So many have passed and so can I.

You've seen my posts enough to know that I'm not a fan of sitting around waiting for results before studying for the next one…

    HOWEVER…

I'll change my tune here. I think you should pick the 2 you're going to focus on first – let's say FAR and REG since that's the ones you're working on right now – and stick with those 2 till you pass one. Take one, then the other, then re-take the first, then re-take the second, etc., till you pass one. Don't add in a 3rd till you pass one of the first 2. FAR and REG aren't really 2 I'd pair, since it's combining GAAP and IRC, but everyone has different philosophies, so pick whichever 2 you think would be best and stick with them.

Also, if running out of time on an NTS is a recurring issue for you, then start getting 1 at a time on an NTS, then apply for the 2nd one's NTS when you're within 2 weeks of actually being ready to sit for the 1st one. I know, this is opposite of what you see me say on here most of the time, but I think it's more applicable to your situation.

I'd also suggest that you add, vary, and modify your study techniques constantly. One day read your book out-loud to yourself; the next day use a whiteboard (or papers taped together) to “teach” your cat or dog or your kids' dolls the principals of whatever you're studying; the next day come up with your own mnemonics; the next day watch lectures all day; and the next day get one of your kids to help you do MCQs as fill-in-the-blank (so they don't give you the answer choices, you have to come up with your own answers); etc. Doesn't have to be day-to-day, could be changing methods every hour, but focus on finding new and different ways to learn and mixing them all up. Don't go “OK, for this retake, I'm going to use the ‘pretend to teach to someone else' method for everything”, but use it in combination with everything else.

Thank you Lila for your advice….I have been in panic mode for the last 24 hours debating should I change the date and just drop far. or just take the stupid thing. The ironic part tonight was I told myself to slow down and just answer the questions. My trending score is still not too great, but I was so relieved finally get them right. I worked the calculations so know I did not memorize. Some I still need a little work but I am at either I know or I don't. The next thing is why am I putting so much pressure on myself. I know I want to get this over with but my game plan has not panned out. Life keep getting in the way every time I get that nts something happens to where I am not focused on studies like I should and before you know it's test time and no real study time. But no worries, I can do this and I am determined. I agree with studying one at a time until I pass. I already knew that, but you know how it goes, rush, rush, get it done, get it done.

Hey, thanks you have been a real encouragement to me, I appreciate it…..

Taking reg tomorrow, gearing up for far ( a little behind), So start with mcq's notes, or start with the book then mcq. I started with the mcq's with reg and felt so lost. so I don't want to go into far like that. I do have books, notes, audio, and mcq's….thoughts?
