    Hi,

This will be my last exam. I’m using Becker and Ninja MCQ and Notes, Audio. I’d appreciate for any tips on studying for this exam.

Thank you again for your time.

I'm not necessarily the best for advice but i'll tell you what I changed. I stopped focusing on memorizing EVERYTHING and the details. I started thinking “big picture.” Roger Review course always said “Do not get lost in the details.” That's the very first thing he says when studying for Audit. I have absolutely no audit experience whatsoever. I read the entire book and took a lot of my own notes. Audit, everything ties together. Know how it ties together and the why. Know all the steps and audit decisions. Roger did a great job teaching it and Ninja MCQ does a great job making sure you know it. Ninja MCQ was the best. Good luck, you're in good hands with your materials.

By the way – I did 3 practice SIMS. Not a single one was tested on the exam. I didn't spend much time studying SIMS. Someone said on this site before “You either know it or you don't” when it comes to SIMS. I agreed with him and didn't practice the SIMS. The authoritative literature helped me with 3 SIMS on test day.

@THendry I had forgotten about Roger's good advice. I agree and I always made sure to keep the audit steps up front while I was studying so I knew where I was in the audit process and that helped a lot. I didn't memorize a whole lot which is what Roger also recommends…don't memorize try to understand. What helped me was to apply the material to how it may work in the real world and why things are done the way they are done.

For me, repetition was key to passing audit. I used Ninja Audio and listening to it multiple times was extremely helpful in identifying the main points and getting information to sink in. Even if I did not study the specific part of the audio yet, I would listen to it anyway. When I got to that material in my review course, I was semi-familiar with it and I knew what I was supposed to hone in on.
