Hi all. REG is between me and becoming a CPA. I’m struggling passing this section, mainly because both business law and taxation are my weakness. Not to mention, the tax code is tough to meander for the SIMs. I’ve went through Becker twice for MCQ and lectures, minus the SIMs. I decided to go ahead and purchase Ninja MCQ’s as supplemental for my third go. Any suggestions on how I can buckle down and learn this material? Also, how to be able to tackle the SIMs? Thanks for any guidance.

I am also looking for advice. I have spoken to couple people and for them REG was also the hardest. I am working some of the Sims for individual taxation and noticed that on one of my sims there are blanks for me to enter the amount of exclusion and/or inclusion amount. Is this reflective of actual sims on the exam where you have to input the number instead of getting options. Also, if you input the number do up round up or input the number to the cents?

Take a group of 500 plus questions from your weak areas and perform an open book study session. When you feel confident, start taking MCQs the usual way, in groups of 20, and identify your actual weak areas in tax/business law.

Rounding – don't worry about that. It'll be taken care of in your SIM. If I remember, the software also is calibrated to accept answers within a certain range so that no one gets an answer wrong just because of rounding up or down. Anyone correct me, please. And remember never to enter dollar signs in your calculations – that's what effs some people's scores up haha.

hi, I passed REG with 82 in second attempt. Did yeager and roger lectures and Wiley test bank. Focus on all the tax part of it . After struggling doing MC i decided to read the wiley book. And it helped me a lot to connect the dots i was missing. Make sure you master Professional and legal responsibilities and taxes . And have good understanding of Business law part.
Do test bank as much as you can for taxes part . Its not hard but you have to go slow to understand it.

Hope and determination will lead to success.

I would look at what you think caused your score to decrease from first to second exam.

Then do a ton of MCQ's from diff sources.

    -----------------------------
    BEC - 77, 03/2015 (first try)
    FAR - 79, 05/2015 (second try)
    REG - 83, 12/2015 (first try)
    AUD - 84, 03/2015 (first try)

I got 99 problems but the CPA ain't one.
