To Break or NOT to Break…

    So I’m curious…

Three hour test: Do you break or not? When?

Four hour test: Do you break or not? When?

So far I have taken two tests and haven’t used any time for a break. I would much rather have the extra couple minutes to stare at that one SIM that is giving me a fit.

    How about you?

    B - 77
    A - 72, 74, 74
    R - 88
    F - 61

I only break if I can't hold it any longer, lol. I always make a restroom trip before the exam but sometimes you just have to go during the exam. Nothing worse than thinking about how bad you have to go while you are trying to concentrate on the test!

I always take a 5 minute break after the 2nd set of MCQ. I go to the bathroom, get a drink of water, and just stand up and walk around a little to get the blood flowing. I really need it to ‘reset' myself as I prepare for the final battle with MCQs and the SIMs.

I think I'm going to break tomorrow. If you break, then make sure to be aware of your surroundings. Try to keep track of the other test takers to see if they are on break as well. I took a break during BEC and had to wait ~15 minutes to get back in because two yahoo's were in front of me.

I don't eat or drink before the exam. I go to the bathroom before the exam. And I don't take breaks during the exam.

After the exam, I eat and drink 🙂

i've never taken a break during a test. my testing center is in a business complex and you have to make quite a walk to the restroom. not only that, you need a key to access it and if it's not in it's designated spot you have to wait for the person that took it to come back. let's just say this isn't the best place for a testing center.

Breaks are for the weak. On test day I wear Depends and just go with the flow when nature calls.

    BEC: Passed
    AUD: Passed
    REG: Passed
    FAR: Passed

When I took my AUD last month, I took a break after every single testlet… I was completely distracted, still don't know how I passed lol

I think a break before the SIMS is a good idea.

On a four hour, I couldn't get by without taking a break before Sims. I had almost three hours for my AUD sims because I was rushing so fast, and I knew there was no way I could make it through three hours of high anxiety without needing to visit the restroom.

For the three hour one, it's a lot more doable, but I still take one before Sims. But like someone above said, you really have to be aware of how someone checking in is going to slow you down. I suspect that I think better when I'm hydrated so I try not to get too dehydrated on test day. It's a balancing act to walk down the middle of those two lines.

    AUD - 88
    FAR - 90
    REG - 85
    BEC - 88

Of all of my attempts at the exam, the only time I took a break was my last exam (aud). I took it between the MCQ's and SIMS just to clear my head. Not sure if it helped or even hurt but to this day I'm glad I took a breath between them.

    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75
