    Hello All,

I just began studying and I have been recommended by others that they use the Wiley Test Bank to help prepare and study for the exam. However, when I went to look into purchase the test bank I saw that it is $599, which is pretty steep especially since I am using the Becker online study, which was pretty pricey as well. So for those of you who have Wiley and use it would you recommend it to others and how do you utilize it for your own studying purposes?

    Thank you!

Don't do it!!! 🙂 Ninja is a lot cheaper, and in my opinion a much better product.

I have WTB and it works fine for the most part, but I bought it last December at about half the price. I think it is overpriced now for what you're getting.

I haven't used Ninja MCQ, but if I were to buy a test bank today, it is what I would get.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

    Hi Danny,

I personally would purchase the Ninja MCQ's to supplement your Becker materials. I had the WTB but it expired in June, and I found the Ninja ones comparable, if not better, for me (granted I will not know my score until late next week). I think I spent $250 on the WTB, but at the current price I would go Ninja over them any day!

    Good luck!

I have both. There's nothing wrong with Wiley (although they do have a few errors that they still haven't corrected), but at that price, it's too much. I purchased a year's access for $250 earlier this year.

If you just want to supplement, I suggest getting Ninja. The questions are directly from the AICPA and the price won't force you to take out a small loan!

I use Wiley, don't know which is better but Wiley is cheaper on amazon in case you decide to go with that. Don't buy it from the Wiley website.

Many people are saying the Ninja Mcq is great so it's a tough decision.

    FAR - 71, 68, 74, (8/31/14) 78 ✔
    REG - 67, 71, 71, (10/18/14) 78 ✔
    BEC - (11/29/14) 86 ✔
    AUD - 73, (4/4/15) 86 ✔

I can't believe this is over! 2 years and 3 months..

If you buy Wiley, get it from Amazon.

And, you can consider buying one section at a time.

    AUD - 75 - 5/29/14
    BEC - 80 - 8/31/14

Does anyone have a problem with the AL in the Wiley Test Bank? I am studying REG and there is no AL in the simulations. When I try search, a window pops up and says something like “AICPA will provide AL on the exam”. This makes it difficult to study simulations and research questions are useless. I emailed Wiley last month and they said they will fix it in the update at the end of June and that has passed. I emailed again and they said they are working on it.

It is a waste of money in my opinion, especially after they changed the format. I would use Ninja MCQ instead.

There is AL in WTB, but just no search function. You have to look at the table of contents and navigate through it the old fashioned way.

Sometimes I use Google to search so that I can at least find the main section that way, then drill down in the WTB AL for the detail.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

@yourmomsaCPA yaeger's test bank looks like a great deal, it's like $7 for a week of access (the minimum time period) but it's actually just awful. there's no way to only do questions you haven't seen before, so you just see repeats all the time and have no idea what questions you haven't done yet. there's also no way to take it in study mode where you get feedback for your answers instantly, you have to do it in quiz mode where you answer all 20 questions first before seeing any answers, making it much more difficult to actually learn. there's also no sims.

although the price is tempting, especially for final review time when you only want extra questions for a week or so, it's a complete waste and I do not recommend it.

as for WTB, I got it for free with CPAexcel and I think it's great but I would buy ninja MCQs if I didn't. it's SO much cheaper and from the feedback here, just as good, if not better.

I am using Becker as the main study material and then any supplemental materials I use is on a case by case basis. For FAR, I added the WTB (FAR only) and Ninja Audio/Notes. For my BEC, I added Ninja MCQ's (BEC only). I decide what supplemental materials to get based on peoples comments on this forum, what the program offers and my study habits. Good luck!

    Greetings Danny,

I purchased all four sections of Wiley in May of last year for about $355 (w/ tax & shipping). I used Wiley to pass three sections so far, BEC, AUD, & FAR. With the price being almost 70% higher, I probably wouldn't have purchased the Test Bank in the first place. What appealed to me then was the fact that the user interface was the closest you'll ever see when you enter the prometrics center on exam day, so there was no surprise. The practice questions you'll see, is almost identical regardless of what other Test Bank you use. I know because my Wiley subscription recently expired in June and Im currently using Ninja MCQ with some Roger CPA Review.

Like others mentioned, you can purchase one section at any given time for a slightly higher price. At least I can promise you that you wont be looking at the remaining sections until your ready to study for that exam section. So, in a sense your killing your money by purchasing the entire product, when your may not be ready to study for all four sections within that 12 month subscription period. Your other option is to wait for Wiley to announce a price cut in their Test Bank, which may or may not happen.

Its a tough call having so much invested in your study materials, but if your willing to pay a premium to have a Test Bank that resembles the CPA exam on exam day, then go with Wiley. Otherwise, the other Test Banks (the much cheaper Test Banks) are just as competitive. In which case, I highly recommend Ninja MCQ.
