In Q1 of 2015, I took FAR and BEC. I found out that I passed FAR last week, but I took BEC last Saturday (28th) for the third time, and I feel like I did horribly on it. The first two times I took BEC I got a 74 and 73 on it. I have passed my other parts the first time without any problems, and if I don’t pass BEC this time then I only have one more chance to take it before I lose my REG credit. I’m dreading getting my score for BEC on the 10th because if I fail again for a third time I will be devastated. I don’t know what else to do. I truly am studying hard for this exam!

    REG-76-11/2013
    AUD-80-2/2014
    FAR-83-1/2015
    BEC-79-2/2015

So glad to have my life back!!!!

Get mad and treat it like the hardest exam ever taken. I failed it 4 times and finally put it to rest. BEC was the hardest exam for me. I myself am praying that a passing score shows for me on the 10th. Otherwise, I will have 1 more chance before credits are lost.

I sat for BEC, pushed out AUD for a Pass in October, and hit BEC hard for a Pass in November. Made sure to know Break Even backwards and forwards, and most of the other calculations.

I have a theory about scoring and why BEC seems to be the hardest for some people. Essentially, BEC currently has the highest pass rate. Because of this, when they put in pretest questions to obtain statistical information about the difficulty of a question it is being weighted against a higher average (because more people do well on this exam). Therefore you need to do better in raw numbers on this exam than others, because more people do well on it. It's funny because basically the easier the exam is the harder it is.

Anyway, it IS possible to pass. If you can pass FAR you can pass anything. The good news is there really isn't that much material in BEC, so you can probably review it very thoroughly. I found flash cards very helpful for BEC.

    Good Luck

Thanks for your reply. Question: could you tell if the questions on your BEC exam was getting harder?? Does it always mean that the questions have to be lengthy to be considered difficult ??

BEC and REG were the only two exams I knew my questions were getting harder on. I think they were lengthier, but more than that, they just took longer to complete. Since BEC is heavily calculation based, I found that harder questions tended to have more steps than the easier ones.

Sometimes when you think it didn't go well is when you get the best score. Hopefully you made it!
