    Hello all,

I took FAR today and I’m a little concerned.

It seemed to me that about 50% of my questions were related to governmental and not-for-profit accounting.

Has anyone else had this kind of experience?

I knew that these two topics supposedly make up about 20%, but I had a lot more questions.

What do you guys think? Should I be worried? Is this a good sign that such difficult questions came up frequently?

I really don’t know what to think and I am going to go nuts for almost a month while waiting for my score.

    AUD - 91

From my experience when you're not sure it's likely you will pass.

FAR May 2012 81 (lost credit, didn't sit for other sections.)
    FAR 86 Aug 2015
    AUD 85 Nov 2015
    BEC 84 Dec 2015
    REG 78 Mar 2016

Passed ALL sections in first attempt!!

I took FAR today also and felt completely awful about it. I felt bad about Audit too and did fine, but this was much different.

I felt like I got around the 20% or so for the government/non-profit questions. I did manage to get some questions that were straight out of left field. I don't think you should be worried. As you may know, the testlets get harder the more questions you get correct on the previous testlet, so it could be a good sign. Every exam is so different though, that's what makes the CPA crazy. It really is the luck of the draw on what questions you get and if they're the ones in your strong areas or the weak ones.

I think this post will be deleted because you are not supposed to talk about percentages of a topic on an exam.

@Tomsmall3: I had the same experience and I failed.
I am now studying for my retake next week, and I am focusing more on Governmental, Not-for-Profit, and IFRS.

I took it today too. My test was super hard. Hopefully I pass. I was clueless on all the simulations.

Where you guys simulations or Govt as well? How was the simulations if you all dont mine me asking. Mine was on EPS. I took FAR last week and I had the same feeling. I had some random questions, a lot of Govt and a few audit questions on a FAR exam. Not sure what that was about.

@tomsmall3 50% seems pretty high. That's 45/90 MCQ. Sometimes it feels like a lot more, but it may have been around the 20% area that Becker notes. Maybe a little higher who knows. Would you say the rest of the topics were pretty even?

Watch your disclosures about stuff you did on the exam!

    FAR - 75 (2/25/16)
    AUD - 80 (4/8/16)
    REG - 80 (6/10/16)
    BEC - 79 (7/19/16)

You only get one shot with the spirit bomb.

Most of my simulations were on Gov and NFP one year ago.

I won't talk specifically about topics due to the disclosure policy, but I'll say the Sims were rough for me. I gave myself around an hour and a half to complete that section, and honestly I wish I had about an extra 20 minutes or so. I didn't think they were difficult, a couple were just tedious and I didn't pace myself very well resulting in me scrambling at the end to put down answers.
