Took FAR today..demoralized

Went into this exam feeling good and armed with lots of knowledge. First testlet went extremely well. I bet I got 26-27 right. Second testlet was extremely brutal. I feel like every question was outside my realm. Never felt so hopeless on an exam before. 3rd testlet was pretty hard as well. Sims went alright…2 of them were rough but I managed to compete. I have to pass FAR and Reg before Jan. 27th. I’m thinking I should just keep studying FAR, even though I felt like i was fully prepared today. Hoping for a less brutal test next time around. Has anyone had a similar experience after excelling in the first testlet?

Definitely felt exactly how you did. I hope it's a good sign that the 2nd testlet was so difficult.

Some of the questions, I swear I knew the answer while reading the question, but turns out it's not even an answer option. Lots of sideways questions that I couldn't find the answers to in Becker.

The third testlet was a mix of the first and second–but at that point I was still dwelling on the 2nd testlet and how I got my ass handed to me.

SIMS were fair. The concepts were pretty basic but “the devil is in the details.”

I had a feeling I bombed it when I walked out, which is good because it seems like those who think they failed are the ones who pass.

Sounds like we had a very similar experience. The third testlet probably seemed a lot harder because I was so busy dwelling on the second…and still am for that matter. Absolutely brutal and seemingly unfair.

Yep, felt the way you did on the testlets….felt worse than you did on the sims, didn't even get to one.

Passed my retake with an 82 and got the shock of my life with these exams.

    You just never know….

Having been in similar shoes, and if you haven't touched REG yet at all or haven't seen it in a while, I would start on it since you have to pass both by 1/27. If you pass FAR, you've already started your REG review. If you didn't, you've already gotten a start on it and can incorporate reviewing for FAR which you've already gotten through all topics recently, and try to get them both in in January if t comes down to it. I made the mistake in thinking I had failed my FAR retake and didn't start studying for REG right away because I thought I was going to loose credit for AUD anyway and might as well wait to take FAR and REG over in the new year. I had to get my REG review in these past 5 weeks and take it tomorrow in hopes to beat the 18 mo clock for my AUD credit. I could have bought myself 3 extra weeks of studying if I didn't count on failing FAR lol.

Good luck and just keep pressing forward!

    AUD - 90 Pass
REG - 70,61,81 Pass DONE DONE DOOOOONNEEE!!!!!!!!
    BEC - 79 - Pass
    FAR - 70,82 - Pass

On testlet 2, MCQ1 and MCQ30 were the same question with differently worded but similar answers. Anyone have this before? Any thoughts?

OMG…first test let was from hell flagged about 12-13 computation problems..2nd test let was about 8-9 that I flagged but equally hard if not harder the third test let was mixed but the sims completely friggin destroyed me! I had no idea for 5/7 sims but I tried to complete them all. If I pass it'll be a miracle, highly doubt it. I just want to drown in a sea of wine right now. Ugh!!!!

    BEC - PASSED
    AUD - PASSED
    REG - PASSED
    FAR - PASSED

Yeah. I'm going to ignore what I just read up above.

How can one person sitting on the same day as the other get a mostly conceptual exam, and the other get 1/2 computation on testlet one?

    AUD - 75*, 88 done 5/14! (*exp)
    BEC - 74 , 77
    REG - 65 , 76 (10 point combooo!!)
    FAR - 69 , 75
