Hey I took REG a few days ago and something odd happened with 55 minutes left.

I was working on a sim and tried to open the calculator, and the cell which I was to put the answer in turns completely red. The interface and program freezes and every click doesnt register. Its obviously frozen…until i look at the time and see it move to 54 minutes left. I instantly freak and get a sinking feeling in my stomach. I alert the prometric dude and he comes over to restart my computer. I put in my launch code and it comes back to the question, 53 minutes left. Continue trucking through the sims and about 3 minutes later…..screen flashes and says : “Windows is shutting down”. Damn, theres that feeling again. I alert the guy a second time and he moves me to another computer, enter my code and log in, 47 minutes left. I ended up using all the time I had with one question I needed to fill in quick answers without absorbing the facts.

I asked around and heard I should contact my state board. I emailed them today and await a response….Any idea what remedies could come of this? this was honestly an exam nightmare for me and i still cant believe i was unlucky enough for this to happen to me…

OMG that is horrible. Definitely speak to someone at your state board and find out how they would handle that. It would not be fair if you failed due to that lost time, but then again, how can they prove a failing score is attributable to the approximately 10 minutes lost of exam time? Hoping you pulled through on the MCQs for a pass!

    BEC: 73, 81
    AUD: 85
    FAR: 71, 77
    REG: 74, 75...finally DONE! 😀

*This is my 2nd attempt at the CPA exam. For all of you who have failed this exam many times, given up on it, or taken a break like me, remember that it is still possible to finish what you started...failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently 🙂

I am thinking they will probably let you retake the test for free .

    REG-77
BEC -Waiting on score May 5th
    AUD - May 30
FAR - Q3 depending on if i pass above two in Q2

My power went out midway through taking REG. The Prometric center said I could wait, but it ended up being an 1-2 hours before the power returns so I chose to leave. The Prometric center wrote an incident report and told me to call NASBA. Everyone was pretty helpful and I had no problems with them letting me retake the exam for free.

Get a reference number from Prometric to send to NASBA so you can get a new NTS.

    Passed all sections.
