So I just took REG for the first time yesterday. I previously have only taken AUD and passed with a 76. The multiple choice questions were definitely doable. The 2nd and 3rd testlet did not seem to get more difficult than the first which is concerning. Who knows though, an easy question to me could be a difficult question to someone else. After my 3rd testlet I had a good 1.5 hours left and I was feeling pretty good. Then the SIMs happened……

I went straight to the research question to get it out of the way and get points I know I could get. Found it in less than 5 minutes. The other 5 were a different story.

Everything required a calculation of some sort. I was “iffy” on all 5. I feel like there is a chance that I could get a 0 on all of them. If an answer is $88,560 and I put $87,480 will I get any credit?! All 5 were like this, So brutal,,,,,,

I guess I wait and see what happens.

    AUD - 76
    REG - 78
    FAR - Aug 2016
    BEC - 79

Good luck on your exam. Were you able to use the AL on any of your non-research SIMS? I know when I took REG, I had a SIM out of nowhere that my brain went blank on. The IRC saved me because I was lucky enough to find what I needed word for word. I think that you did really well on timing. I know you can get partial credit on the SIMS, but I don't know what the criteria is for partial credit vs no credit. You may have done better than you thought – remember about 15% of the MCQ are pretested, and 1 of the SIMs is pretested as well.

    BEC - 88 8/29/15
    REG - 82 11/14/15
    AUD - 83 1/8/16
    FAR - 80 2/29/16

I was not able to find answers researching. I pretty much just looked at each sim, gave it my best guess, threw in some 0's and hoped for the best.

I use CPAexcel and did all of the SIMs. There were small similarities but not enough to where I felt comfortable with the material.

I could give better advice if I knew my score. =[

    AUD - 76
    REG - 78
    FAR - Aug 2016
    BEC - 79

WHen it comes to filling in #'s I believe it's either right or wrong. They could make it easy for you to bomb FAR and REG if they took one sim and each Q in it flowed to the next. I was always fearful of that lol

I've passed REG, FAR, and BEC so far and REG is the only one where I used the AL for the SIMS. Boy did I use it. Well, at least tried. lol

    -----------------------------
    BEC - 77, 03/2015 (first try)
    FAR - 79, 05/2015 (second try)
    REG - 83, 12/2015 (first try)
    AUD - 84, 03/2015 (first try)

I got 99 problems but the CPA ain't one.
