Before you read this, just know that everyone’s experiece is not the same. Don’t freak out with my experience!

This was my 3rd attempt at REG! Had I known this much the 1st time around, I would have passed. I was not prepared for REG the 1st time. I barely looked at Law!

The 2nd time around, I studied hard but the simulations killed me!!!! Literally killed me!!! The multiple choice so super easy….I was even wondering why they would make them so easy….with the exception of law because I was still unsure about Law.

The 3rd time was today, I THOUGHT I KNEW EVERYTHING I could possibly know for this exam! So much knowledge and barely any of it was tested….makes me really mad!!!!

Here’s what happend,

1st Testlet- questions were easy! there were maybe 4-5 that made me wonder

2nd Testlet – medium…maybe 5-6 that made me wonder

3rd Testlet – harder! I had maybe 7-8 that I knew the subject but they wanted to know DETAILS!!!!

ok simulations KILLED ME again!!!!!!

Sim 1 – knew 90% of it

Sim 2 – I think I found the answer but I dont think I referenced right….I know sounds crazy but I REALLY DIDN’T KNOW HOW TO REFERENCE IT!!! THAT’S SEPARATE ISSUE! ughhh

Sim 3- knew the subject but they put a twist in it that blew my mind so maybe i knew 50% of it.

Sim 4- OMG – hoping that was a pretest and if it was PLEASE throw it away!!! horrible simulation!!!! – maybe got 30%

Sim 5 – I knew the subject but they digged too much and I didn’t have time to research ANYTHING!!!!! maybe got 30%

Sim 6 – OMG again!!!! =( but I’m only allowed 1 OMG because there can’t possible be 2 pretest questions???? maybe got 30%

Time was a big issue for me on REG! If I had just an extra 30 minutes, It would have made the biggest difference for me!

I just wanna know already!!!!! I think I will continue studying Law until the time comes…I need to make sure I know it well!!!! ughhhhhhh

Anyone out there pass REG with a horrible SIM experience????? Please help me calm down !!!!! I might lose FAR and I don’t think I can continue if I lose a part =(

I really studied hard this time!!!! I had NO LIFE for about 6-7 weeks!!! NO LIFE!!!

I thought the same thing as you did when I took the exam the second time. Multiple choice were super easy!! But bam!!! 74!

Then yesterday when I took it, they were not super easy. None of them were easy. Testlet 1 was hard, Testlet 2 was harder and wordier. Testlet 3 was hard and super tricky.

They're really changing this exam around. I do hope there is a better curve this window than last time.

If I knew I was going to have such a hard time with REG, I wouldn't have left it for last.

Anyone starting their journey now, if you aren't in the tax field or have been in the past, do yourself a favor and don't leave REG for last! Take REG and FAR and get that out of the way first!!!! Then take AUD, then take BEC….this is coming from someone who has big 4 audit experience in their background and zero tax experience!!! ZERO!!!! I never even did my own taxes lololol

You both are going to pass, I know it.

I took REG for the 3rd time on Friday, and I'm so nervous to find out how I did. I'm not expecting a pass, since my testlets weren't that bad (just lot of law stuff, barely any taxation…not a good sign) and SIMS weren't super horrible.

1st time around REG: I walked out feeling miserable, and really wasn't ready…It was my first exam, and I had no idea how to study for it. Got 71.

2nd time: Studied for a week, and TOTALLY skipped B-law…didn't read nor worked on its MCQs. Got 72.

3rd time: I felt I knew everything, I studied everything…read the book twice, and did all the MCQs x3 in Becker, and did all Wiley tax questions. Yet, I have no idea how I did on the actual exam…it was so different from the last time. Though I knew all the subjects being tested, I'm not 100% in my answers. I studied so many tricky details, yet I was asked basic/some tricky questions.

I'm so disappointed, b/c I studied so hard…

=( I wish us passing scores too!!! We'll find out March 7th! I'll be looking for both of your scores!!! They have soooooooooooooo many simulations out there!!! It's crazy!!! mine were NEVER repeats!!!! one of my simulations took it way back!!!! way back into time!!! lolol stuff I knew when i was taking FAR in 2010!!!!! lol I wanted to cry!!!! LITERALLY!!! I hope they put camera's up by the computers so they see how upset they made me…maybe they'll feel bad and give me a passing score!! lol

CPA628- your prior scores for REG are very similar to mine

Yeah, our scores ARE very similar…let's hope we get few more points and finally be done with this. I'm sure you passed!!!
