Total Acts of Random Encouragement

Anyone have any surprise acts of encouragement that they have run into while studying?

For instance… A long time back on a flight back from a conference in Texas I sat next to a gentleman who must have been some kind of coach. We were stuck in mid-flight due to weather issues at an airplane servicing station. As I kept ticking through the AUD questions on my laptop every time I completed one correctly he would just burst out random words of encouragement. “Bam down goes another one.”, “You nailed that one.”, “Keep it up!”.

    AUD - 75 - 07/06/2012
    FAR - 72, 74, 82 - 05/30/2013
    BEC - 84 - 01/16/2013
    REG - 60ish, 84 - 08/16/2013

    That story is awesome. 🙂

I had a friend randomly send me a package in the mail…a little keychain plush puppy, candy, Skittles, just a little thing to encourage me. That was sweet!

I haven't gotten anything from total strangers, though – I'm never studying around total strangers. 😐

One of my good friends is a CPA. She and I had a conversation a while back about how even though Financial Accounting is a monster of an exam, the subject seems to make sense to both of us. There are rules and as long as you know them, you can logic almost any computation out. Anyway, for my birthday, just prior to my first exam (FAR), she sent me a t-shirt that says “I <#3 Financial Accounting.” I wore it to my FAR exam and passed! I wish I had an “I HATE Cost Accounting” t-shirt. The first half of BEC is brutal with all the formulas!
