Tough Decision

    Hi all,

I need some advice. I just found out Tuesday that I failed REG for the second time with a 63. The first time I got a 61 so I only did two points better this time around. I worked by butt off for this one, using Becker and supplementing with Ninja MCQ’s. I’m extremely discouraged.

I have passed two parts of the CPA but even before finding out about this last exam, I’ve reconsidered my career path. I love business and I like accounting but I do not like public accounting. Auditing really grinds my gears and taxes is ok but overall I don’t like public. I’ve been in public straight out of school since January 2014.

I’d love to work for a company where I feel like I’m actually working towards something. I just get the feeling that public accounting isn’t that rewarding.

Now, passing two parts makes it difficult because I passed AUD and FAR and don’t want to be known as a “quitter”. I don’t know what to do. I’ve looked into obtaining my CMA because I think that would be more relevant for my career goals.

Any advice that you could provide would be much appreciated.
