TX Licensure – How long does it take?

Does anyone know how long it takes to get your license back from TX State board?

I mailed everything in 7/15 and my $50 check cleared the bank 7/19. I still have not heard back from them. I have been checking my spam mail just in case the licensing fee email got sent to there. I’m starting to think maybe I failed the ethics exam and that’s why its taking so long.

    Thanks everyone

I passed the Professional Conduct Exam and it took a total of 4 weeks from the date I mailed my application (6/10) to when I could officially call myself a CPA (07/09). This includes a few days that caused delay due to having to have my work exp. form revised and was getting approved in a 4 week period that included the July 4th weekend.

My check also cleared a few days later. Aside from the tracking number I got when I mailed the package, I used this a sign that the Board did in fact receive my info.

Keep in mind that the Board “registers” new CPAs on Mondays only so if you dont make the cutoff in the prior week, you have to wait another week.

You can contact the board and ask for a status update. I know I got updates such as “we're submitting your application for approval.”

If everything is okay, I think it will take another two weeks or so for you be officially licensed but do contact the Board to get a status update.

    FAR 46*, 77
    AUD 70, 79
    BEC 67, 82
    REG 75

    Texas License July 2013

Used Yaeger lectures based on Wiley textbooks

*Studied less than two weeks, forgot I had purchased NTS.

I live in Austin. I physically took my packet (Prof Conduct Exam, work exp and all) to the TSBPA tower on 6/25, paid the licensing fee on 7/3, and officially licensed on 7/8. As far as getting licensed, TX is pretty quick compared to the stories I've heard from other states.

    AUD 93 08/20/12
    REG 87 11/26/12
    BEC 91 02/25/13
    FAR 98 05/14/13

Licensed in TX on July 2013.

    Thanks everyone for responding !!!!!

I logged into my account again and this time it says “CPA Certification in Process” Last time I logged in it did not say that. That's a good sign. It also shows my payment of $50.00 and the date it was posted 7/19. The rest of the info is listed as not available.

Compared to the 3 years it took me to finish the exam, waiting another 2 weeks is a piece of cake. =)

    Thanks again!

GlobalCPA- I'm in the same boat. The tsbpa called me today about something else and they said the packets were mailed yesterday.

Has anyone that passed their last exam in Q3 received their license? Seems like the paperwork is moving slowly and the guy I am assigned to at the board is not helpful.

I always found the people I spoke with on the phone to be friendly and helpful. Not always the answers I want, but helpful at least.
