Seems like all public accounting firms are similar in pay per year/title.

Can someone give me an idea of what you can expect salary wise? Like 5% increase every year or something?

It varies between public accounting firms, varies internally depending on ranking, and even varies amongst individuals with the same ranking.

I received the highest ranking every year while I was at the Big 4 and know people that got slightly lower or higher percentages.

    Year 1: 10%

    Year 2: 20% (senior promotion)

    Year 3: 12%

Year 4: 13% (left the firm before the raise took effect)

A colleague who received similar raises to me stayed an extra year and got a 20% raise to manager.

Roughly 5-10%, plus or minus a few percent depending on how the firm/practice/region did, promotions, performance rating, and a handful of other factors.

I know I basically told you somewhere from 0-15%, which you could have obviously guessed. Your request for “typical” is almost impossible to answer, but there's a range anyway.
