BIG4 offer contingent on background check. Just got this email:

Paraphrasing: “Congrats on you offer with Big4! As you know, you signed authorization to complete a background check. There are a few items I need some clarification on. Can we set up a time to discuss these items, it should take about 30 minutes?”

Am I screwed? I have three misdemeanors on my record. 1 underage drinking 1 underage possession of alcohol and 1 disorderly conduct related to alcohol. These all happened within a 6 month span of each other over 10 years ago. I haven’t had anything since.

I did not disclose these, because, in all other pre-employment background checks, these haven’t shown up. I was under the impression that 10 years was long enough for it to be no big deal. Additionally, the cases against me was an extremely long and drawn out process I really don’t even know anymore what actually is on my record. Some charges were combined, some were dismissed, you get the idea.

HELP! Am I going to lose this offer?

Now what the hell do I do?

Do you honestly think if you were screwed the email would start with “congratulations on your offer with big 4”

First, don't assume that is what she wants to clarify. Second even if it is, all she is looking for is the explanation you gave above.

I had an offer rescinded once because I didn't disclose a DWI on my application. I had accepted the offer contingent on the background check, and they called a couple weeks before my start date saying that it came up on my background check, and they were withdrawing their offer.
