This loophole thing has me confused, if you have an open NTS and are allowed to schedule exams that are NOT on the NTS what does that mean. For example you took FAR last month and next week you are taking BEC, would the loophole work or no?

the loophole worked like that for me, I've passed two parts. I took REG in Feb and had an open NTS for AUD which I was taking the following month. The loophole said I failed REG and I got a 71. A coworker of mine had an open NTS for REG yesterday and checked the loophole for her BEC results (which she took in April) the loophole said she passed and she got a 78, BEC was the first part she passed.
So it seems like it works.
I took my first section- REG on 5/15/10 and have an active NTS for other three sections (have scheduled for BEC and AUD) in NC. The OH re-registration allowed me to select all four sections. Does this mean that I just failed REG? It would be great if someone can tell me if this is true or not. I desperately wanted to know my score and did not have any motivation to prepare for my next section- BEC. Thank you so much in advance!
Rogedj,
I haven't used the loophole since I live in CA (an indie state). But I believe that I read somewhere that the loophole only works after the AICPA gives the score to NASB. An REG has not been released yet.
Rogedj,
I also believe that you won't be able to use the loophole until they release the scores next month in wave 2. In order to be considered in wave 1 score release you would have had to take the exam by May 7th.... and even then you are not guaranteed in first wave score release. Unforunately, I'm in the same boat as you with the waiting.
Thank you so much! I feel relieved now. I read somewhere that someone got his score for BEC that he took on 05/14/10. So, I thought my score for REG took 5/15/10 would also have been released. Maybe I read it wrong. I now need to focus on BEC but I can't seem to be able to concentrate. The waiting is killing me. Thanks again!
No problem, and for the BEC release you should take into consideration that BEC has no simulations (it is just 90 multiple choice). Which makes it easier to grade. I took mine on the 7th and got my 89 on Thursday and now I am waiting for my FAR and REG scores coming out this week.
I think your score will be out in the second wave probably around the 20th of June.
Trojan.CPA,
Congratulations on passing BEC. Your score looks good. I believe you will pass FAR and REG. When did you take REG? How did you feel about it? I did not feel good about mine. There were about 10 MCQs I had to guess. I finished both sims but was not sure if I did them correctly. The 1st sim was long and hard and I am sure that I did wrong on at least one tab.
Thank you!
rogedj,
Thank you, I don't think I passed REG, I was feeling really good while doing the exam until I got to the simulations. I left 1hs 45 min for both and still run out of time. The first simulation was fair but long, I did all the tabs but I had to BS my communication because Becker didn't cover that topic. And my second simulation was out of this world, I had an hour left for it and still run out of time. It had like 4 tabs+comm+research. And 2 of those tabs required lots and lots of calculations that I couldn't finish at all (maybe it was because that topic was covered in just one paragraph by Becker and I didn't prepare well enough for it)
For FAR I feel I have a chance, I know that I missed 3 multiple choice on the same topic (I was certain of my answer and they kept asking the same question, so I got them all wrong) And the rest of the exam, I think I did alright but I am not sure since it is such a beast that you can't go out of the exam and check all your answers with the book.
I am keeping my fingers crossed, it is my first time taking the CPA and if I passed these 2, I will be done with it after a 3 month journey.
Good luck on BEC!
Trojan.CPA
Thank you! Do not worry about your REG. I hope you will pass. I have the same issue on the simulations. I also left around 1 hr 40 mins for them but it took me more than 1 hr to do the 1st one. I was able to type three paragraphs and had to bypass 1 paragraph of the 1st communication. I had only 24 minutes for my 2nd sim, which was a lot easier and shorter than the 1st one. I do not think I would get any points for my 2nd communication because I did not remember seeing the topic in Becker materials and I just typed up several stupid sentences. I have been worried about failing. This is also my first try and REG is my first section. I would be very discouraged to study other sections if I failed the first one.
Thank you!
Anybody try the Ohio loophole for audit today? I tried and could not sign up. Not sure if they are posted yet though.
Hopeful...
I tried yesterday and today - Audit was greyed out (which I'm waiting for). The only one I could register for was FAR which I failed last window and haven't reapplied yet. The other two I have an NTS for. I'm not getting excited about it as I don't think they have our scores yet since everyone I've seen post so far has said they got the same.similar message. sigh........
Has anyone recieved this message from the loophole....."We are sorry. Currently all sections of this exam are still in process."?
yeah, i got "we are sorry. Currently all sections of this exam are in process". waiting on Auditing. Last one. took it 4/28
leethomason - if that is what yours said then it probably isn't posted yet because it would have told you that you had passed all four sections or you would have been able to sign up again for audit. maybe tomorrow. what state are you in?
LA - and I understand that is probably what the response means. just letting the other person know I got the same message.
Thanks Leethomason, I was hoping that it would not have been the case because it seems like nobody has recieved their AUD scores. I guess the waiting will just continue....
The loophole may have been corrected as a result of the maintenance to Nasba website this past weekend.
what's the point in correcting the loophole though? it isn't a security risk.
My FAR is greyed out, but not hoping for anything. Looks like something happened because I can not get my old BEC scores.
HFBamaFan - When did you take BEC, was it in the last window? Scores only stay in for one window.
Does anyone know if AUD is expected to be released tonight? Has anyone heard anything?
Yes I took BEC last testing window.
Question for anyone, I just checked NASBA and they say they have my scores. I tried to re-register for the exams I just took, Audit and BEC and it is still grayed out and I can not choose them. Does that mean I may have passed? Thanks
Mike01 - when did you take AUD and BEC? Did you take them in April? If so, it probably means you passed. I would check again around 12 PM eastern to see if you can register and if you can't, then you probably passed.
HopefulCPA1- I took BEC on May 13 and Audit on May 11. Nasba did say they had my scores and would be available online tonight. I still can not register for either audit or bec. I hope that means I passed but I am not getting my hopes up.
i talked to Jimmy - he was less than pleasant. they say they do not have my scores. I am signing off maybe i will check tonight or not. at this point i dont care anymore. good luck to everyone waiting.
Has anyone from MN used the loophole at all?
I tried the re-registration via loophole both before and after scores were released, and was able to register for all sections both before and after.
Anyone from MN had a different experience?
I just went on to try this...I took FAR on April 30 and BEC is greyed out (passed in February) and so is FAR...I hope that means that I passed!
cpaexaminpa - I'm assuming you're from PA... have you used the loophole on any other sections you took in the past? If so, did it prove correct?
The reason I ask is because I'm taking it in PA, also...
It does have that BEC, which I passed is greyed out...this is the first I am using the loophole. I am assuming since BEC is greyed out that it should hold true for me that I passed FAR...tonight when NASBA releases the scores will be when I know for sure if it is true for PA or not.
I used the loop hole for REG last window and it was my third section passed. Does anybody know what the loophole will say for the last section? Currently says all sections are in process
Called up NASBA just now, the woman said they have my score and it's currently in process and I should be able to see it online in 24-48 hours.
Tried the loophole, I've passed REG and BEC. The only exam I can check the box for is FAR, I don't have a NTS for FAR yet. AUD is still shaded out, does this mean I passed??
Not getting hopes up yet as I've heard that the loophole doesn't work for NY....but from what I've read, NY doesn't show the "you have passed all 4 parts" screen, it just lets you register again for the exams, I read nothing about not being able to register for a part you just took (if that makes sense).
What I'm seeing correlates with the "Scenario 2"....which all signs point to a pass!? =X
Mr 300 - you are correct but so far nobody has been able to re-register for AUD or FAR since they have been released so I'm not sure they are in the system yet. Once somebody says that they have been able to (which means they probably didn't pass) then I think you can be more confident.
The loophole did not work for me. I passed Audit but it would let me register for it again.
CPAtheCPA...which state are you sitting for the exam?
I just checked OASIS and it says"Our records indicate that you do not have an active application or registration at this time" I have passed three tests and waiting for REG .What does this message mean ..had anyone seen anything like this ..I wonder if this has to do anything with my REG score, its my final one ..i cant wait no more !!
The loophole changed for me overnight, now says I passed all parts. I am a CO candidate, and took my last test (FAR) on 4/30. Has anyone else had the same thing happen????
someone on the club 75 posted that they tried the loophole again this morning and they failed audit :(
Now I'm too scared to check!!! Ugh - what to do. I have reg on friday and I'm freaking out right now!!
Yep, the loophole is working now. Good luck everyone!
....crossing fingers that the loophole doesn't work in NY, cause now I can check the box for AUD and FAR as opposed to last night I couldnt check the box for AUD......(still have to get NTS for FAR)
Hi:
The AUD is available for re-enroll. Any person, who is not waiting the result of last section, is finding AUD grayed?
I'm in TN (NASBA State), waiting for AUD - last exam. I have been refreshing constantly. No score found - yet.
I have also been trying to re-register and getting the "scores in process" error.
UNTIL JUST NOW. It says "We are sorry. Our system shows that you have already passed all parts of the Uniform CPA Examination. If you have questions, please call your Coordinator at the number given below."
Can I safely assume I have passed?
i just checked the loophole for the first time ... waiting on AUD (sat 5/3) and currently grayed out is BEC (on the same NTS as AUD was and i have not sat for it yet), AUD (which i just sat for) and REG (which ive already passed) the only one i can select is FAR .... im from NY - does this possibly mean i passed AUD since the loophole is working again or is NY all screwy?!? ugh im freaking out here
So the state of TN isn't releasing scores until the end of the window. WTH. How do they expect us to pass????? I swear to God, I am furious. I am trying to pass. Why do I have to wait this long and come razor thin close to a deadline to pass all 4 parts b/c the board makes a decision - not to mention they didn't tell ANY of us. And there are some people who are receiving their scores. What is going on????? I seriously wish NASBA would get their you know what together along with the state boards and AICPA and come up with an efficent and transparent process for score releases. when you study this much and have 3 diff. people at NASBA tell you 3 diff. answers you can't help but become stressed to the max. I honestly just want to quit.
havetopass - that is just a rumor......don't let it get you. i talked to my TN rep (Alan) he said TN will release in wavws like always and didn't know how that rumor got started.
no, i just called NASBA and the woman told me it was true.
that's why i'm so upset b/c even NASBA reps are giving different answers. i just want my score!! haha seriously what is going on???
and i just had another friend call from tn and they wouldn't tell her anything. this is her last part before she starts losing credit.
havetopass,
I didn't realize there was more than one TN rep. i thought Alan was the only one. So, I am not trying to argue with you, but it seems to me Alan would be the one to talk to. (ext.4267)
