I HATE BEC WITH A BLOODY PASSION!!! I have finally figured out why I don’t like this (insert dirty word here) test. It’s because it makes me feel (dirty word) stupid! I get to the point that I can’t (dirty word) add anymore. I forget basic (dirtiest word) algebra because I’m too busy trying to remember a (dirty word) formula that I will NEVER use again. Then I begin to wish I had spent more time in the Ag Shop learning to weld as good as my Daddy, because if I had, I could make a decent (dirty word) living and not have to do this (insert all of the dirty words here and then make up new ones to add) ever again!!! It sucks!!! Why can’t we just have one freaking formula for something? NO, we’ve got to have five (dirty word) different formulas that all come to the same (make up some more new dirty words here) answer. I am convinced that this test was designed by the Devil to test us, not on accounting but to find out just how many of us would lose it! Well, I’m about to snap! Between Operating Leverage and Weighted Average Cost of Capital and Corporate Governance and a freaking hurricane beating down my (dirty word) door, I’m about to nut up!

I agree, there are a ton of formulas to remember. It was making me feel overwhelmed last week. Then I realized, many of the formulas can be reasoned out based on their names. I don't know if that will help you but it helped me. Since I figured that out I can work on remembering EVA= nopat – [WACC(TA-CL)].

The other thing I like to do is think of something about the equation that will help me remember it. Like EVA is WACC!

I do something similar for GDP income approach. GDP=PRICID

Now you are just freaking me out! Too many letters! I can't remember the formula's, I'm sure I'd screw up the letters! I'm just really, really, really frustrated right now.

If I can get to Prometric! My test is at 8am and I'm 2 hours from the testing center. And to make matters worse, the freaking storm is headed straight for the testing center! I've had a test rescheduled due to a hurricane before but NEVER on the last day of the window. I am stressed to the nth degree and frustrated with myself!

try and stay calm…im stressed as hell right now also..i hate this feeling..im so tired, and i want to lay down and just watch some tv right now and i feel guilty to stop studying..so im still going..almost feels counterproductive….. i need this passing score so bad..i have been at this for wayyyyy tooo long……

however, i dont have a hurricane coming towards me…so im sure that is adding to your stress level…..but like i said..couple deep breathes and try and relax….im sure if hurricane hits, they will let you take in september..i seem to remember them doing that for snow up here in north east last winter

Although, believe or not. I don't hate BEC because of the formulas… I can deal with that… I love math! I HATE BEC because of the IT section. I am technologically impaired. I admit it and I don't care, computer is not my thing. In my two tests; my IT section is the only weakest and (insert bad word :-)) it, always my written communications are based on IT!!!!!!

I can do the IT in my sleep. My son is a super geek and he teaches me all of that stuff. I just can't remember all of the Fin Management formulas. UGH!!!

Have you tried flashcards?

Have you tried writing the formulas over and over again?

I'm not a big flash card person so I try the second approach. I'll type out the name of the formulas on the computer and then print of maybe 10 copies. Then to the right of the name I write in the formulas. I keep doing this without looking unless I have to. Then I try and progress each time to the point where I don't need to check anymore.
