Wait for score or move on to next exam?

Just retook FAR today, not sure how I did, but I will be scheduling with a new NTS in a few days. Need some input. Should I attempt to take AUD end of November, or wait until I get my FAR score? In case I don’t pass, should I try again for FAR in January or go on to take AUD in November? My first test expires July 2015, which is BEC and the only one passed so far.

If you took FAR today you won't be able to take it again until after New Year's, so you may as well just proceed as scheduled with Audit at the end of November. I also wouldn't recommend giving NASBA any more of your money for a new NTS until you know for sure you'll have to retake that portion of the exam.

How confident do you feel about the exam? Absolutely terrible and you know without a doubt that you failed? Then I'd say stick with FAR and take again in January. If you're on the fence, you could try for AUD.

Just remember, playing Devil's Advocate here, worst case scenario: you start to study for AUD, find out you failed FAR, take AUD, start studying for FAR again, find out you failed AUD, then take FAR, etc. You now have just set yourself up for twice as much studying by bouncing around.

But if you know the material at least a little well and are semi-confident then do what stresses you out the least. Life is too short to do anything else

Did you schedule AUD yet? Have you started studying for it?

If you start studying for AUD now and take it at the end of the this testing window, you will have approximately 5-6 weeks to prepare. Would that give you adequate time? I don't know how much time you have to devote to studying.

If you've got a section expiring in 9 months, you really don't have the luxury of waiting to see how you did this time. You don't want to lose your BEC pass. Move on to AUD.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Take AUD, hands down. A month and a half is more than enough time for AUD. Proper calendar management is key. You'll be spinning wheels waiting for FAR.

My suggestion would be to take AUD in mid to late Nov, take FAR in mid Jan and take REG at the end of Feb.

That gives you 4-6 weeks to study for AUD (more than enough time); 6-8 weeks to study for FAR (6 is the min safe amount, 8 is great); and 6 weeks for REG (6 weeks is plenty of time to get a solid study in for REG).

Additionally, that leaves you one (two if your score expires at the end of July) testing windows to mop up what's left if you need to take a retest or two.

I feel semi-confident in passing, but the SIMs… maybe got the AL and 1 other 100% correct, partial on a few based on drop down menus, but the numbers are probably wrong. Test went med-hard-easy… I will probably get a new NTS soon, so I can maybe squeeze in AUD end of November. I can study 2-3 hrs per day, like 4-5 on weekends. I do audits as a profession (non-financial), so maybe it'll be more familiar than the FAR topics. I guess it's on to AUD…

As far as the test expiration, it says 7/16/2015 as last date of credit period. Do I have to sit or receive my final passing score before this date?

I believe you would have to sit for the exam by that date.

Also you can still pass with Med/Hard/Med (there is no easy). Technically, you can pass with Med/Med/Med, but you'd have to ace the sims.

Don't wait on your score, just forge on. Like another poster said, you can't retake FAR until January if you took it this window anyway. That's plenty of time for AUD, and you can used December and even beginning of Jan if you want to restudy for FAR if need be and it should still be relatively fresh in your mind.

That being said – even though I don't know you, I really hope you passed!! 🙂 Putting good vibes into the universe for you!

As far as the deadline, you just need to sit for the exam by that date, not receive your score.

    REG - 87 (Becker)
    AUD - 96 (Becker & Ninja MCQs)
FAR - 85 (Becker, Ninja MCQs, Audio and Blitz)
BEC - Last one! Waiting on score release 11/24!

Keep on studying for your next exam! I like to take a little break and then get going again. Even if you have to retake, you'll be happy to have a jump start on that next section after your retake… And I find that if I let myself get out of the habit of studying it is harder to get back to it after a month or several weeks off.

    FAR - 7/13 - 72, 11/13- 74, 2/14- 82!!! Best score ever (for me)!!!
BEC - 1/14 - 75!!! Perfect score! First Pass! YAY!!!
    AUD - 8/14 - 80!!!
    REG - 5/14 - 72, 10/14 - 66, 1/15 - 78 - DONE FOREVER!!!
I did 5 of the UNA and CPAExcel classes to earn units.

This is pretty much what everyone else said, but my thought process was this:

You can't take FAR again until January anyway, so you might as well fit in another test in the meantime. AUD is a great fit. You have enough time, and the material parlays off FAR material pretty well.

Good luck on your AUD prep, and I hope you passed FAR!

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

I'll continue beating the dead horse…

You need to start studying AUD and take it in November, after that is complete you can then double back for FAR as necessary, or move forward with the next section when you found out you passed FAR 🙂

    REG- (1) 76
    FAR- (2) 64, (5)74, (7)83 (Over achiever!)
    AUD- (3) 70, (4) 75
    BEC- (6) 75
