Today I challenge you to get back to basics! It’s so easy to get caught up in the high level/complex topics that you neglect your basics…especially when studying for REG and FAR! Make sure you are tight on basics and fundamentals, especially when close to test day!

Last night I finished off my study goals about 30 minutes or so ahead of schedule and perused the Wiley Test Bank for a topic that I could do all the MCQS for in that timeframe. I went with Present Value Fundamentals and thought it would be a slam dunk…until I went 13/21!!!! Yikes!!!!!!!! Looks like those fundamentals need a quick tune up!

Take an hour of your time today and revisit your fundamentals and basics! Not every MCQ is going to be a 3 paragraph complex fact pattern and you don’t want to leave any easy points on the table. I know it sounds obvious but it’s easy to forget. I did!

My “back to basics” moment for BEC was in reviewing econ when I realized I could do all the supply/demand analysis like a champ but blanked out on simple questions about what the graph curves looked like 4 days before my exam…yikes! Just another example of easy points that I could have left on the table but didn't because I took the time to tune up! 🙂
