Hello all 🙂 This is my first post here and I hope that some kind folks out here can help answer a few questions I have.

Well to sum things up I am a 21 year old accounting undergraduate student and I’m in my junior year. I attend CUNY Baruch college where I am completing my BBA in accounting and MS in taxation or accountancy(Not decided yet). The recruiting season is coming up and I really want to land an internship over the Summer of 2015, or maybe even during the tax season if allowed and I want to know what my chances of landing an internship are.

My GPA currently is 3.8 overall and 4.0 in my major. I am also minoring in Communications.

As far as on campus related activities go(i.e. clubs organizations) Im affiliated with none.

I work part time during the semester, usually 18-22 hours weekly.

I plan on doing some community service to make up for the lack of clubs because the club hours interfere with my work schedule.

I do have 20 hours of community service from my senior year of high school but do you think that is worth putting on my resume?

Also there are some gaps in my work experience, how should I go about handling this?

Based on all of the above can anyone tell me what my chances of landing an internship are?

my friends goes to the same school and is in the same position…

but ummm idk about next tax season because you will be in school and they only hire full time.

grades seem good, clubs are meh (i was never part of any) (I'm in same grade as you and what not)

when ware you gonna be eligible to sit for cap exam?

i say your chances are as good as anyone else's, but I'm not really sure cause i don't think i will be going the big 4 route

Thanks for your reply jstay. I will be eligible to sit for the CPA exam after my fall 2015 semester.

Is there anyone out there who has big 4 experience that might be able to shed some light on this? Thanks
