    Hey everyone!

I just took FAR for the second time and I’ve started studying for BEC (hopefully my last exam). Ever since I started the quest to become a CPA, I’ve found myself starting sentences with…

“When I’m done with the exams, …”

Me, myself, I plan on taking lessons in ballroom dancing and competiting, also starting a youtube cooking show with my husband, and picking up sewing! Although I am in accounting, I’m really into the arts. I need the hours I’ve used for studying to fulfill my artistic side, before I go crazy!

What about ya’ll? What are your plans with your free time after you pass (and you will!)

I found out this past Friday that I am done. I promptly proceeded to throw away all of my workpapers, note pads, expired software and notecards. I pulled the big trash can to the front door and starting throwing it all in!!! What a liberating feeling! It really was a fire hazard.

My future plans include: going to see George Strait in concert this Friday, working out more to get 10 pounds off that I ‘ve gained in two and a half years, cleaning the garage out, getting my house in order, learning a new languarge and picking up my violin again:)

Telling my so called “boyfriend” to kiss my ass.

@ henryv- To teach at a community college as an official professor you need at least a masters. If you want to just teach review classes, etc there aren't specific rules about it, but it would depend on the specific program I'm sure. I have an MBA, but I don't think anyone cared. What they did care about were my scores and that I passed the first time around. My CMA scores were much better than my CPA scores so thats how I got the gig originally

CPA4birthdaypresent: I did competitive ballroom dancing in high school, and it was the most fun sport I've ever done! I definitely recommend you go for it. I want to get back into it some day as well.

What will I do after the CPA exams are over? I plan to spend more time with my husband including going on a cruise for our anniversary! That's the goal driving me through this last exam.

    @ basically everyone:

I'm really glad to see I'm not the only one who had an internal struggle between gym time and study time…oh and let's not forget sleep time. During this past summer, before I was married to my husband, he was still playing professional baseball and he would casually check up on me to see if I was working out consistently…but I kept having to say “No” because of these stupid exams…Now that we're married and he is LIVING the studying and the stress of these exams day by day with me, I totally think he understands how Gym + CPA candidates don't really mix.

Do you all feel that reminding yourselves of all that awaits you AFTER the parts are passed is helping you focus or just distracting you more?

I love it that many of you state that you are going to get back to the gym… the gym is the one thing (other than my daughters, of course) that I prioritize over the CPA. I would go crazy if I missed a scheduled day! That is what keeps me sane!

With that said, I currently teach business as an adjunct professor at a local community college (I have an MBA), and I hope that the semester coincides with my completion of the exam. If that is the case, I'll certainly be looking forward to a couple of weeks of doing nothing, maybe a vacation somewhere, who knows… I think too much about the exam now; the best part about being done is that I won't have to worry about it anymore, at least until I start my next project… CMA??!

What's “free time”? Sounds familiar… Like something I had at one point in my life but have completely forgotten 🙂

    FAR - 2012 - PASSED (YAEGER)

I forgot about free time long before I started my path towards the CPA… that would have been when my first daughter was born. The CPA just exacerbated the situation!

Read and watch Game of Thrones, lift weights, drink, wait for scores, videogames, and other tomfoolery that doesn't involve getting up at 5:30.

    AUD - Pass
    FAR - Pass
    BEC - Pass
    REG - Nov
