I usually take a walk, or eat. Since it was so HOT out today, working out ot walking was out of the question. So, today I went to the grocery store. I know that sounds crazy, but we needed groceries and I need to get out of the house and away from my laptop. I feel much better!! Plus I bought myself a chocolate cake, yum!!

Started sitting in May 2002, on and off. But since 2008 I've been nonstop and my scores are....

If I have the time to get away, take my harley out for a nice long ride. If not, kickboxing usually does it for me.

I walk away as well. Sometimes it gets to the point that it becomes sort of an internal struggle, one side of my brain tells me to suck it up and continue studying and the other side of my brain refuses to take the abuse any longer. I have a LOT of those days but yeah walking away does help. On my really bad days, after hours of studying I usually just have a beer and call it a day.

I try to be proactive about not letting myself get too stressed out. The biggest thing that helps me is to break things up into smaller more digestible chunks. For example, I need to work 50 m/c questions, read 30 pages, and read 2 chapters of flashcards every day to stay on track. I figure it out in the beginning so I can finish up with however much review time I need before my exams. Then I try my hardest to stay on track. It gets refined as I go a long but you get the point.

That said, I still get stressed occasionally as we all do. I eat, which I am trying to stop. The comfort food and stress eating have definitely put on the pounds. I also spend time with my kids just hanging out, maybe watch a fun movie or some of their tv shows. Taking some time out definitely helps.

I listen to crazy, hateful rap music. Specifically: Eminem's – Not Afraid. It gets me pissed off at the world and at the CPA exam. Then I want to study. Anger is always the answer!

    AUD - 71, 76 (Becker only)

during my undergrad, when stressed I would go for a run. Apparently I must have been stressed a lot because running turned into a hobby.

Training for several races, most noteworthy are Nike Women Marathon, Ragnar, & Austin Marathon!

(plus numerous half marathons & a few ‘fun runs')

running is great! Instead of throwing the books at the wall, step back, go for a run. If you are still stressed on your run then you aren't running fast/hard enough.
