I received a phone call from someone at a firm I recently finished up a second interview with last week. He called and left a voice mail at 7 PM yesterday (needless to say I was not near my phone to answer it). I haven’t been able to get a hold of him today, which is unfortunate because I know have to wait until next week. But given the circumstances and the time of the call, what could this mean?

I would assume they are interested. Could be a follow up question? A job offer? Hard to say. A phone call is good though.

Don't read into the time of the call. People just work long hours including the person who called you.

But a call after a 2nd interview is a good sign. Very few businesses bother to call for a rejection.

I have gotten a rejection call after a second interview, but that's pretty odd. You didn't forget your jacket at their office did you? 🙂

I would think that the most likely thing someone would be calling about would be to extend an offer. Keep you hopes up.

Actually someone I know from my MAcc program received a phone call about an offer from a big 4 at around 9pm. I was surprised they would call that late but I guess it happens.
