What I like about the CPA license is the opportunity to hang out my own shingle. I will have no employees, no inventory or discontinued merchandise, no accounts receivable and very little overhead. How can I lose?
I will hang out my shingle and do whatever my clients require. I am not rigid or inflexible. I am looking forward to the challenge of being in business again.
Additionally, the most important asset that a CPA has is public trust. Trust is so important that it should be on the balance sheet.
I will be moving. I will never be an expert in my home town. That is why I have to move! I will be moving into my new town as a licensed CPA. Moving is a positive, not a negative.
The formula for success in a new territory is very simple. Stop selling and start helping! Hang out your shingle and LISTEN to what your future clients need, and then do it. Price your work by the job, NOT by your hours (cost/benefit).
