For anyone interested in knowing about a recruiter’s compensation, please keep reading. Was at lunch today and a couple sat in the next booth and was talking rather loudly. One party was telling her friend how she was just hired as a recruiter (very well known recruiting firm) and she gets a base plus commission. she said base is 40,000 and her firm gets a fee of 40% of the salary of the person they place. The individual recruiter then gets 30% of that 40%.

It's a sales position. Some do very well for themselves. Others- not so much.
