Ok so I failed aud for my second time first try I got 67 now I got a 65 and I really dont know what to do. I used becker review I did the mcq 3 time I got scores on mcq between 85 and 95 .I did them 3 times before exam. So now im just so depressed dont know what to do can some one help me give me some advice plz

oh yhea and my 2 friends also used becker and they got a 62 second try and my other friend got a 65 on his 3rd try

That's tough momo11. Sorry to hear it. I think the thing that helped me the most with AUD was the use of the online text book. Every mcq I got wrong I clicked on the textbook link and would reread everything having to do with that question. It got to the point where mcqs would come up and I could picture in my head exactly what the page looked like in the textbook. (pathetic I know) AUD is really just a big memorized puzzle and being able to put all the pieces together. It's not like the others where they can throw some strange twist on a calculation at you. If you haven't tried going back and forth between the mcqs and the online textbook this may help. I'm a really visual learner and I also drew a ton of pictures on how things fit together – a lot of flowcharts/diagrams. I kept going back to these when I'd get something wrong and I continually added to them/redrew them. Questions would come up I could picture in my head the flowcharts and how things fit together. This helped me a ton too. Good luck. Don't give up. Took me 19 months of solid studying to get through these exams.

Try a different question bank, like Gleim. That has, if I remember, over 2000 questions with at least 1800 being from AICPA. If you can work those problems out and take notes when you get an answer right but are not sure, or get an answer wrong, you'll end up doing very well come the final test. I boosted my grade by 11 points, just by working those questions twice, along with Becker H/W questions… I think I clocked over 5,000 MCQs.

I think that's the best way to assure success. And if you have time, you could get the Ninja notes after all that and re-write them. Listen to the audio too. Point is to get involved with the material as much as possible for about 1.5 months

My Wiley books said that people tend to spend way more time practicing MCQs and not enough time practicing for the sims, so when I studied, I took that warning very seriously and got an 84 on AUD, which was my first test. I'm not great at MCQs, so I believe it was my performance on the sims that got me through.

There is a difference between knowing how to apply the concepts for choosing the right answer for a MCQ and being able to put that same information to practical use in a more freeform format like the sims, so it takes practice thinking in that way. I used the Wiley test bank sims and did all of them.

I read here that Gleim has good sims, but I didn't try them.

The sims are worth 40% of the score, so they are definitely worth putting in a lot of time preparing for them specifically.

Try studying based on category. I found that I was always getting answers wrong because I would confuse them with a similar topic. I didnt realize it until I started practicing by individual topic. It allows you to focus on the one topic and reinforce any weaknesses you have. When I was doing all of the topics at once; it just confused me and it was because I would confuse one similar concept with another and I couldn't correct it because I didnt even know I was doing it until I broke them down into sections by topic. Becker nemonics help tremendously with audit. it is a simple and easy way to memorize topics that will provide you with “easy points” on the exam. When I got to the exam for Aud the first think I did was write down all o the nemonics i memorized. and i did it first because i knew my nerves would get the best of me once i started the exam and i would go into panic mode. I cant say it will work for everyone but it def. worked form me. i passed first try with an 81; I looked at those nemonics at least a dozen times while taking the test. They also help for the simulations; the BASE nemonic; was a huge help for one of my simulations. and it helps calm your nerves as well because you wont feel like a complete idiot when you dont even know where to start. I hope this helps. Best wishes, and just remember, you CAN and you WILL pass. it may take longer than you'd like but you WILL get there as long as you dont give up.

I got a 70 last July when I took it only using the Wiley book. I then passed the other three and came back to Auditing. I didn't think it would be useful to reread a book that got me a 70, so I bought the 10 point combo. I did around 3500 mcq and all of the Sims from the WTB, listened to the audio, read the notes and watched the blitz multiple times. I also referenced the book if something didn't make sense. The result of this 1 month of studying after not looking at auditing for 5 months was a 91. I honestly felt more prepared for the test than I had on any other test. I also finished the test in under 2 hours because I knew the material. Also by using the AL on the practice Sims I was experienced with it and I was able to find exact answers to the Sims.

Change up how you are studying in order to get better results.
