Do i continue to study FARin case I failed or just wait? I need to buy Audit study material for my next exam, but I don’t know if I passed FAR. What do you guys do in between exams?

FAR was my first exam attempt.

Think of it this way… Will waiting 8 more days matter over the next 18 months?

    Give your brain a rest.

    FAR - 71, 76
    REG - 75

I disagree. You've taken a break already. You should be spending the time studying your next section so you don't lose the, hopefully, good study habits you developed for FAR.

Waiting too long to start studying between exams is a bad thing. Just because you can't take the next exam until April doesn't mean you should put off studying until then.

I would wait. Then if you failed, retake it in April while the information is fresh. Then regardless of how you feel, I would start studying for the second part and take that end of May.

Unless it is your last exam, you should always take a few days off, and then hit the next section. Wasting time between exams can cause you to lose credits if you have to retake exams.

    CPA EXAM: DONE!!!!
    Ethics Course: Passed
    Application Mailed: 3/16/15
    Professional Conduct Exam: 97

I'm waiting. It's onky 8 days and you deserve a break.

I took aud on 1/31 and the score wasn't going to be released until 2/24 which was almost a month so I didn't wait and started studying for BEC. When it comes to waiting on a score release or studying for another section I would say it depends on the time frame. A month wait for score release definitely don't wait. You can make serious headway with another section in a months time. 10 days on the other hand, I would wait and take it as a break. You don't want to burn out.

I took over a month break after my BEC and a two week break so far since REG. I don't recommend taking a month break, but definitely recommend taking a break. I took a month break because i am in school and had to focus on finals. I did try to study for REG right after BEC though and found it difficult because I was worried about my BEC results.

I recommend taking a break. If you are like me, than you did not have as much time to hang out with family, friends, and yourself. I spent time with my family and friends, caught up with school work, my favorite tv shows, hit the gym hard, etc until i was able to look myself in the mirror and know that i was ready to go back to war.

I plan on getting started with audit the beginning of next week

I'm taking a break. Focusing on work, my wife, gym, and TV. I don't want to start studying another section if I don't pass AUD. If I didn't pass AUD I'm going to re-take it in April. If I did, then I'll begin on another section. I didn't wait on my last ones and I didn't like that. I should have just stuck with FAR (first fail) instead of jumping into BEC and then failing that. Really sucked.

Jcviray, I also took FAR on 2/21. What was your exam experience? This is my first ever exam….I left completely deflated and unsure of everything! I wish it didn't take so long to know how you did. I have been still studying….and hoping that I passed and am a fool for not just moving on! My SIM's were impossible! One SIM would have taken me an entire day to do at work with all my resources available! I also just hate that the screens are so small it is hard to move back and forth between information and be fast about completing a SIM! I did put that on my survey! I just feel if we pay this much to become a CPA we should have 2 screens at least and a nice calculator! Oh Well! I will get through it!

I took FAR on the 28th. Two hours after my exam, I had purchased BEC study materials and was already studying, lol. I just want this to be over with!

I made the biggest mistake of taking a break. I passed BEC and FAR in first attempts. Then took AUD. Studied for 3 months and ended up with 74. Then i read AUD again instead of both AUD and REG. Again i got 74 on AUD. I should have started reading Reg. Now i have given AUD for the third time. Now i have decided that i will start Reg and have already started. come what the results of AUD i am going ahead with REG. Dont wast time. BTW i work full time in a company and i am 38 years old with Kids . I cant afford to loose time. Praying for a magical 75. Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    BEC Passed

just being honest here…..If it was your first time testing and it was FAR, I would go ahead and keep studying for it. FAR is a Beast! Especially if you already took the past 10 days off. I always take a break while waiting for my scores. But I dont let that break get too extended, because it's hard to get back in the routine. Because no one wants to be studying!
