Tomorrow is my first CPA exams (FAR) and I am getting nervous today. Although I finished all the MCQ and simulations on Becker, I still feel that I am not fully ready. I heard that the Becker Final Exam is way easier than the questions in the exams. But I only got a little bit higher than 80 on my final exams. I am kind of worried whether I can pass it this time, which made me even more nervous. But I guess there is not much that I can do a day before the exam. What do you guys do a day before the exam?

    HA! What sep7uakron said.

But I typically do a pretty intense review of my notes, the questions I've missed, and high level review of the sections (especially those that I struggled on)…in that order…as long as I physically/mentally can and/or until a few hours up until bed. At which point I put it down, find something relaxing to do, and get some sleep.

Then I get up with a couple hours to spare, spend an hour or so reviewing my notes again. Drive to the test center. Do a quick note skim once more. Then game on.

Most people do better on the real exam than the Becker final exams (usually by 10-12 points), so I don't know where you heard that.

Day before I'll review my notes on the MCQ that I've gotten wrong and rework them if I'm still having a hard time understanding the reasoning behind them, maybe a quick read through of Ninja Notes. Psyching yourself out will not help!

@joyflying, the Becker practice tests sims are way easier than the test sims. If I had it to do over, I would have spent more time reviewing the regular homework sims. I got a 57 and a 71 on the practice tests, so I think if you're pulling an 80, you're set.

I have always, without fail, scored higher on the actual exam than on the Becker final exam. Every single time. I have also gotten easier sims on the actual test than on the practice test.

The day before the test, I take the practice test in the morning & then take the rest of the day off. I work out, shop, whatever to get my mind off the test.

Thank you guys! Reviewing some simulations seem to work for me. I just don't wanna lose my calm while taking the exam tomorrow. It seems that the time during the exam is pretty intense. Tick tolk, goes the clock…

I schedule my exams on Monday Mornings so I have all day Sunday to get my mind right for the exam. I'll normally just go over some of the items I feel I need to memorize for the exam (like deductions for REG, equations for BEC/FAR, etc.) and do MCQ's.

Also, I make sure I go to bed at a decent time. Your brain won't be working at 100% during the exam if you stayed up late cramming.

Best of luck in your journey!

    FAR - 84
    AUD - 74 (b00), 82
    BEC - 82
    REG - Aug 25 2014

Is there a way to purchase only the Becker practice exam or would you have to purchase the entire program?

I know how you feel.. I took FAR without barely studying… you know the usual, study one day take a few days off…. you can see how well that worked LOL! Then I took REG because I scheduled FAR and REG a few months apart ( which I know now was a bad idea). Then I changed my study habits but that was not enough…. So, before I took REG again I changed my study habits once more .. Still was not enough! I told myself I am tired of this crap! So, I studied everyday, I read the entire Becker book, did all Becker MCQ and took flash card notes of why I got the wrong answer. I then bought the Ninja MCQ for my last week and a half of review and worked 1,000 or more MCQ and still took flash card notes of why I got the wrong answer. I read every flash card EVERYDAY over the course of the week and a half review up until the day of the test… Then I went in the testing center ready for a fight! I found out yesterday that I was the winner of that fight! The SIMS were my defeat every time I failed REG (FAR was just pure laziness and underestimated on my part) but this time I worked through each part of the SIM like a MCQ and when I went to fill in the blanks for that particular SIM I just pulled all of my answers out of the formulas that I worked by hand. Honestly, this is where self doubt may come in to play because there are not any “answers” to choose from……… Well I found out that you just have to go with your instinct and put it in the blank and move on and DON'T change anything if you start doubting yourself because if you are truly prepared you will have the right answers or at least most of the right answers on the SIMS. I know I rambled on a little but GO IN THERE AND KNOCK THAT TEST OUT!

Becker's final exams are difficult because they're a business. They want people to panic and buy their cram programs.

Becker is harder than the actual exam. There's a thread showing performance on Becker's final exams correlated with actual performance on the exams. You'll find your score of 80 is extremely impressive.

I go really really light the day before. No MCQs or sims. Just notes review and by 5 I put the notes away and take my girlfriend out for a nice dinner for putting up with my CPA Candidate ass. A couple of drinks and solid nights sleep. I always wake up on exam day ready to go! I eat a solid breakfast, take a couple of supplements (the healthy kind), one more notes review and then go time. I've done this twice and it has worked out well, going to do it again in about a week……which reminds me I have a reservation to make….

    MBA,CMA,CPA, CFF?, ABV?
