    Hello All,

    I am taking REG tomorrow and was wondering if anyone would like to share their thoughts on what their “cheat sheet” would look like if it were permissable to bring in with you on gameday. Just trying to hone in on some of the more important/difficult topics that can be expected to be on the exam. Of course, any other comments and helpful hints are always welcome.

    Much appreciated and good luck to everybody.

    Ya know, I wrote stuff down on my sheet before the test started and didn't look at it/need it once.

    I had the formula for realized gain in a like kind exchange

    The mom and pop calculation

    @Gabe: I had the formula for like-kind exchanges memorized too! I missed it on my last exam so I made sure I had it down this time around. Didn't use it :/ Btw, the more I think about my exam, the worse I feel cuz I keep remembering stuff.

    @JL: I would memorize the itemized deductions and deductions to arrive at AGI and what gets included in income.

    I would also memorize business law definitions. I would definitely know basis in and out for entities.

    I wish I could tell u more without divulging info! Best of luck for tomorrow…come back and share ur experience with us.

    @Gabe – we are done. I just know it! See you on May 5th 🙂

    @OP – There is no cheat sheet. There is too much to cover to create a handy cheat sheet. And I am not a proponent of writing down formulas right before the exam (even for BEC). But REG is especially a crap shoot of an exam, so there is no point on guessing through such pre-work. I don't even think mnemonics work for REG, it is not that kind of exam. And I couldn't even use the AL, which everyone keeps mentioning to use for REG. I don't know how you look stuff up in a 3 hour exam! Of course, for AUD, the AL is invaluable…there are exact answers at your fingertips if you have good research skills…

    Now I need some experience!!! And some networking...

    @last Fingers crossed for us!

    I used the AL for REG. It was nowhere near as helpful as it was for FAR or AUD, but I used it some.

    Thanks for the input everybody.

    @gabe & @rana – definitely will take note.

    @Lastchance – Before taking exams containing as much minutiae that is involved with REG, I like to take a step back and try to see the bigger picture. Obviously this exam is somewhat a crapshoot in terms of creating an all-encompassing cheat sheet that will provide for every last detail one must be aware of. I'm really just looking to toss this out as a feeler for any last minute topics, formulas, and mnemonics people can specifically remember being helpful during their own exam experience.

    Good luck to all of you on passing, I'll be right there with you on May 5th, hopefully one step closer!

    I have a few choice words for the exam I just took, none of which I will share here.

    @thechapman – probably the best advice anyone could have shared.

    I definitely got drunk after REG. Don't worry about it. You have 2 down. If you passed 2 on the first try, I don't see why you won't pass this one. REG created the most uncertainty for me after each attempt…I couldn't believe I got most of my scores in the 60s in REG. I completely 100% underestimated this exam! I still contend that this is the most enjoyable section to study, just can't believe I struggled at it more than FAR!

    soo I am thinking of my cheat sheet right now. for BEC and FAR, I used this “cheat sheet” to write down the things I had to know and constantly rewrote it over and over again so once I got into my seat at Prometric, I did a data dump. I want to try and do the same for REG as my exam is Tuesday but there is just so much, I am not even sure where to start!
