I’ve failed REG, FAR, and AUD. I got BEC down which was decent. Just took AUD again today. If I fail again, I’m not sure what I will do. I’ve been doing Rogers and Ninja stuff for all the tests Ive taken already.

Watch the lecture, read the book, do the problems, and write my ninja notes.

Then do more problems and sims from the wiley and ninja mcqs I own.

I have a horrible track record with taking exams even in college. It was a wonder how I even got a job after college haha.

So how do you guys keep up the studying spirit? I really want a CPA but damn I suck at taking the test.

You get your ass off the floor and start swinging punches all over again. Passing BEC is a bigger accomplishment than you realize, if you can do that, you can do the rest!

    REG- (1) 76
    FAR- (2) 64, (5)74, (7)83 (Over achiever!)
    AUD- (3) 70, (4) 75
    BEC- (6) 75

Keep trying! Wipe your tears and get back in the books. Failing an exam is not failing. Quitting and giving up IS failing. I don't care how many times it takes you – get you some tenacity and get the exams done. You can do this!!

You cry in a fetal position for a day. Then pick yourself back up, head to Starbucks, make friends with the Baristas for free expresso shots in your coffee, then you get right back on the horse again and start studying knowing full well that you have your therapist number on speed dial.

    1. Wimper out of frustration and drink some wine. (I've never been much of a cryer).

    2. Punch a pillow.

    3. Swear I'll never take this thing again and its not meant for me.

    4. Post about it on A71.com that I'm a failure and read posts that tell me to suck it up, and otherwise offer encouraging words.

    5. Try again.

    @brillic…

I know exactly how you feel. I've taken this exam countless times. I finally passed AUD (my first section back in Feb 2013). When I finally passed that section, i was determined I would be on a roll and a CPA in no time.

Here we are in Aug 2014. Again.. countless exams later and in Sept I will lose that treasured AUD credit. BEC has graced me with a 72 the last 3 times I've taken it.

Like you, I was a terrible test taker in college… exams just didn't come easy for me. I've also had to talk myself out of quitting many times. Ultimately though, as @musicamor mentions above… YOU'RE ONLY A FAILURE IF YOU QUIT.

Just keep at it. Its going to be a lot harder for us than we had ever planned, and going to be much more money than we had ever planned, but imagine the reward when it finally happens.

    1. Get pissed at NASBA, the AICPA, and the state board for the ridiculousness of this exam.

    2. Eat a bunch of junk

    3. Worry about a score expiring

    4. Get pissed I have to pay for that section again

    5. Plan when I want to do the retake

    6. Start studying over

    REG - 5/29/12 (64), 10/1/12 (74), 5/20/13 (75, expires 12/31/14)
    FAR - 8/14/12 (64), 8/5/14 (75)

    AUD - 4/22/13 (65), 10/12/13 (79)

I'm sick about the thought of getting my score today or tmrw. If I fail, I will have failed every single exam once and be starting over from scratch. I also start my job in public accounting next month and will likely be the only person at the firm sitting for the exam. That in itself looks bad. I keep refreshing NASBA and get an empty feeling in my stomach each time I do.

Drink (if a Friday), get sad, get angry, start up again after a day or two off. Really nothing else you can do…

    I need this post.

I just found out my 74 score on REG (second time taking) today. I'm sad. Not sure what to do.

3 out of 4 passed and sitting for FAR on May 31. Will lose credit for Audit if I don't pass FAR by Aug 4. I love leases and bonds.

@lab2008 – Same here, 74 on REG! Such a stomach punch.

    FAR - 81
    REG - 74, 87
    AUD - 88
    BEC - 88

    Finally.

In the same boat! I've passed 2 of 4, currently reviewing to take REG again (got a 74 the first time, that hurts), and I'll have to take AUD again (got a 67… BLEH).

All I can say, is you have gotten this far, and it would be failing to give up. I feel like a lot of the CPA exam is how you handle your stress. I'm horribly awful at it, and I was so stressed about failing AUD, that I did. Just breathe, and KNOW that you WILL pass this!

Take it one test at a time, one day at a time. We can do this!!

    BEC: 86
    FAR: 76
    REG: 74, 84
    AUD: 67, retaking 11/22
