When Can I Apply for a Retake in California?

Yesterday I just sat for my first REG section, but I don’t think I did very well. I didn’t feel very confident before I even went in to take the test because I knew I just wasn’t grasping the material and I was getting closer to my test date. (I spent most of my time studying for BEC and neglected REG because I was attempting to take both in the same testing window)

So 3 weeks ago, I reapplied with the California State Board of Accountancy to pay the $50 reapplication fee. My thinking during that moment was to get a head start on the process of reapplying (since California is notorious for taking a really long time), selecting REG, paying the coupon, and getting another NTS so I can quickly reschedule a second testing date AFTER I take my first REG sitting (which was yesterday).

Today I received my reapplication approval and was prompted to select a section so I can receive a payment coupon. However, I cannot select REG because it shows on my screen as “Regulation (REG) – (Note: Currently Blocked – Open ATT)”. Does anyone know when I will be able to select REG again? Is it after I receive my REG score? or have I lost out on the $50 reapplication fee?

You havent lost your application fee. You can sit on that for like 6, 9, or 12 months (i forget which). When your REG score posts to your account, you'll be able to select REG for a new NTS.

Thanks Minimorty!! So basically you can't select the same testing section until you have received your final score.

That is correct. You can never have two NTSs open simultaneously for the same section.

Edit: Sorry Minimorty, I had this tab open for a while and didn't refresh before replying.
