When does the Big 4 recruiting season end and do they like parts of CPA passed?

I applied to KPMG and still haven’t heard back from them and neither have my friends and a bunch of jobs are still on the site. It says you can apply to up to ten jobs, I was only able to apply to 1 which sucks because there are at least ten jobs I’d want to do. I applied a month ago so I don’t get when they would start interviewing people. The other big 4 had on campus recruiting events and gave out job offers, but yet still recruiters from the other big 4 are also still reaching out to people. How late do they recruit till because it seems kind of late to just start hiring people? Also when you set up a talent profile which I did for everyone but KPMG(KPMG I applied directly) how late till they contact you if they decide to. I’ve heard of people getting contacted because that’s used to fill the final spots at the end. I live in a small town and there were suppose to be a lot of positions to fill, so I don’t see how I wouldn’t have a chance at getting any of these jobs.

Also how heavily does the big 4 weight the fact you passed parts of CPA? Seems like they’d want that so they’d have CPAs working for them but I know people that should have parts done by now and have nothing and yet they got hired. My friend graduated in May and got hired by Deloitte she had no internship, no CPA parts done, and a mediocore GPA. Yet me and everyone else I know has not heard back from Deloitte.

What town are you from and are you willing to relocate? When it comes to Deloitte they also look at everything else you have done not just a GPA. Sounds like your friend got lucky though as I went to a good private school and had difficulty getting an interview until I added some good internships to my resume. I also live only 45 minutes away from Chicago and that office is huge so they are always hiring people. I remember the big 4 did not end recruiting until March of next year at my school, that is when I got my interview and internship offer. I am sure Deloitte looks highly at people who have parts of the CPA done! Why wouldn't they? It is always better to meet a recruiter in person at your school functions instead of applying in their online systems. Those things are massive and will probably run over your resume as they have certain key words they are looking for. Just keep trying to meet recruiters in person and submit your resume directly to them. Also it helps to have some connected faculty on your side to speak highly of you. It is difficult if you live in a small town, but you just need to make connections. Some of my resumes submitted online were picked up a lot later than that, but I already had offers. Just keep trying! If you have contact information from the recruiters or anyone at KPMG and the other firms you need to reach out to them! They like when people do that it shows you are eager and interested and don't want to get lost in the shuffle. Just reach out and ask them about your concerns or tips and advice anything to help you get an internship/job!

Thanks for the advice so far. My main scare is I don't know how to relate what experience I have in accounting (minimal bookkeeping and CPA exam) to a big 4 jobs. I have a high GPA but I don't see why they would hire me. I'm wondering if passing parts of the CPA exam even matter to them? Also I try contact the recruiters directly most the time they ignore me even when I was at school events and they told me to email them.

    Hi there,

As far as I know, KPMG is hiring people actually now, as the recruiter told me : ASAP.

    This is in NY actually.

They are not so concerned that you have finished the CPA because they trust they will coach you during the process, but (as far as I know) they want to know that you started the process.

    Good luck!

Sorry I forgot to mention, usually if they will hire you in lower levels (audit associate or stuff like that) they will train you, don't bother too much for experience, just mentalize yourself that YOU can do it!

    Good luck

I'm sure they are hiring now but they aren't responding to me I submitted a application for a specific job I wish I could put in for some more. It looks like for my town they really need people so this sucks. I could try contacting the recruiter but I doubt that would do much.

What do they look for if not experience and CPA parts passed. What should I say I got to offer them

I have some charity bookkeeping under my belt but how would that relate to auditing and or tax? I also have good work ethic and was able to hold down every job I had and work hard but they were all retail jobs.
