I keep failing. It sucks because I know why. I do not have quality study time. My husband is an on the road sales person and I am a stay at home mom to three boys. I try to get studying in at 5AM. I don’t want to give up. I just hate failing and knowing I have to take the same damn test again.

May 24, 2016 at 2:15 pm #778033mtaylo24ParticipantI failed because I messed up my review process. I know exactly what I did wrong smh. I added Wiley the last few days and try to memorize their way of thinking rather than staying the course with Gleim. It was a good plan, just bad timing.

I have seen people post in the past where they have had to get help in order to get some studying in. Someone used to have their inlaws or parents watch their kids on the weekends and they could get in a decent amount of hours on the weekends. If your husband is home on the weekends, maybe he can watch the boys on Saturdays and you can go to a local library or something to study and then spend the evening with them.
You can do it!

May 24, 2016 at 3:37 pm #778037AshParticipantAlthough I am not looking for a pity party I did want to express my frustration. In January I did not pass FAR and got a 70, which for my first exam and the hardest one I thought was good. I then took AUD May 12th and found out this morning I did not pass but got a 72. I know this material but clearly I am doing something wrong. I already have REG, BEC, and FAR scheduled so I am going to change my study plans up and keep chugging along. I also decided to become a part of this community in hopes it will help me if anything just to find people who understand and can relate to my struggle. I get tired of people saying I did great and I am going to pass when they have no freaking idea how hard these tests are.

Hang in there, you are not alone, there are plenty of us in the test, re-test cycle. Is it hard, frustrating, time consuming and absolutely ridiculously expensive…..YES. and don't forget, it can get a little brutal, and rowdy on this site too. So go ahead, jump in, and share your cpa war stories. Good luck to you…..passing in the near future.

Been here too long as a cheerleader....ready to passMay 24, 2016 at 4:35 pm #778039ineedtolearnParticipantI am in the same boat. It seems like I am not learning from my failures.
I originally got Becker for free as a Campus Ambassador.
Failed REG really bad in 2012. Then stopped studying for the CPA Exam.
Then in 2014, I restarted. I bought Roger CPA thinking that the lectures would fit me better. It did. I enjoy it.
Studied FAR for 4 months, passed with a 75.
Took BEC in February 2016, failed with a 60. Retook it in April 2016, thought I was ready, failed with a 73. Seems that I was only ready for my weak areas from the last exam. Now, is this were resilience and persistence in life's challenges comes in?
May 24, 2016 at 4:54 pm #778040PokeyParticipantuggg.. second attempt at AUD – points went up but not enough.. 71.. back to the study plan and now I need to add more than last time to my study plan.. hopefully in July I can finally get on board with passing a section.

I had a few medical issues that distracted me from studying and the test was very difficult. I am going to regroup and start over. I can do this!!!

The score stomped me for a minute…literally 10 minutes…but, I've regrouped and I'm going to be more fierce than before. It's okay. Hopefully, I can pull a win with this one.
Do NOT quit! There's more in you and if you quit you'll never see it. Show you that you can do it.AUD Passed 78

May 24, 2016 at 8:11 pm #778045ZackpassesParticipant@aCPA143 I am sorry to hear that you did not pass! Hang in there, it will be worth it when you finish…I did notice that based on your signature you are within a few points of passing but moving onto new exams. If I were you and were that close I would postpone the new exams and buckle down on the old material. Work the concepts that you know you need to practice a little more to get that 75. Retake those exams while the majority of the information is still fresh in your mind. In my opinion it is better to retake FAR now versus November. Everything you have crammed into your mind the past couple months (however long you studied) will need serious refreshing if you wait until then to restart on this section. Just my viewpoint … either way good luck going forward! You will make it through this!

I am going to move my other test around and take AUD again in July. I am going to the post office today to send my reapplication to the California board. I still want to keep FAR though for November because FAR was torture and I can give myself more time to review for that exam plus I will be taking it the Monday after Thanksgiving so that is four days of 8+ hour cram sessions I cannot normally get with working full time. I defiantly appreciate everyone point of view though it helps we understand what has or maybe has not worked for other folks.
Also does anyone have advice on study Materials. I use Becker but for AUD especially I am going to buy the MCQ's from NINJA just to get the extra practice. I do plan on rewriting my own notes but I am not planning on re-watching all the videos and reading the book cover to cover. I know this material but I struggle with tests because I second guess myself.FAR-70, 63, 75!!!!
