Where to report disclosure violations? (another website)

There’s a website I frequent with thousands of viewers, with a topic requesting CPA exam content. Recently someone pasted the disclosure agreement, but was subsequently blasted with unwelcoming messages, while the same people proceeded to divulge exam content to the OP.

According to this post, we are supposed to report these incidents: https://www.another71.com/cpa-exam-forum/topic/where-is-the-line-on-disclosure-violations

But I don’t see where I can actually report. I don’t understand why people don’t take ethics seriously. The policy doesn’t state, ‘use your best judgment’ or ‘if you feel like adhering by this document you signed’.

Couldn't find anything but yeah I don't want to see disclosures and anyone getting that kind of advantage on exam day either.

Here's a link to the AICPA's “email us” form. I'd start there and see what happens.

Yeah, you need to report anyone who discloses content from their exams.

In one review video I watched, the person said something like “we haven't been told by any of our candidates that this has been heavily tested, but we wanted to cover it anyway” (paraphrasing). Haha.

@funtiks Thanks, anonymous internet person, you're such the cooler person. God, how do I live with myself.

@mla11692 I doubt anyone would get any sort of upper hand from this info, honestly, since the exams are all random. But the part that bothers me is that they don't see anything wrong with divulging the info. It wasn't just accidental or unintentional. It was more like, ‘you must have been popular in class, now gtfo while I talk about the exam' 🙂

    @Angelwatch Thanks, I'll give it a try!

@PleaseDontDeleteThanks Well, even Becker says ‘this stuff is heavily tested' or ‘focus on this stuff'. But this post is divulging specific content. Like ‘I was tested on this exact journal entry'.

I get contacted by the AICPA on a semi-regular basis about different posts on here and they just ask me to delete it or edit it.

They are very gracious about it.

I would just tell the person that you can't disclose such things and let them handle it.

Most people who commit violations forget what they can and can't say…they just need a reminder.

    Jeff:

Seeing you communicate with the AICPA on a semiregular basis, can you ask them if they are willing to provide candidates a printout of the agreement they sign, when they sign it. It seems somewhat unethical on their part to mandate an agreement be signed yet not provide a copy.

I'm sure there is a supposed copy of this agreement that can be accessed somewhere, but how does a candidate know that's a true copy of the agreement they signed? I would never divulge content of the exam because I know that it is striclty forbidden, but future cpa's should not get in the habit of signing agreements for which they don't have a copy, and the AICPA shouldn't be reinforcing this behavior.

I'll mention that idea…not sure what the chances are of that happening, though.

We agree when we take the test not to tell. Do we really need a copy of the document? we know when we pay the fees and register for the test, and we are well reminded over and over not to tell the test info. So, it's pretty pitiful to willingly, knowingly, break the rules and blab on any forum. There is nothing to gain by this disclosure, we still have to study to pass, but it causes problems for those of us that depend on these forums for moral support.,,,what a bummer.

I can definitely see folks who don't post on CPA specific sites forgetting about the non-disclosure rule. I have had to catch myself a couple times posting.

I found the non-disclosure agreement. Figured I'd share with all.
