I graduated in 2005 with a double major in Accounting and Finance. Then I took some time off and then went back to get more credits to get up to my 150 credit hours. I did send in something to NASBA and got pre-qualified to sit for the CPA but then I got married, had a baby, etc etc. Now I feel ready to sit for the CPA exam but feel kind of lost...where do I even start? I live in Valparaiso, Indiana and from what I have read I am qualified to sit and the pre-qualification from NASBA agreed. I have an 18 month old son so I would like to maybe take classes on Saturdays to help get me ready but we don't have a ton of money either. I don't know if I should apply for the CPA exam and then figure out how to study for it? Or study and then apply? I need some guidance and really don't know where to look. Any suggestions? Right now I am an accountant and work for the City of Valparaiso. I guess I could ask them to pay for part of my schooling/exam fees but I am not sure how well that would go over.
