    Hello,

    I am getting ready for a retake of Audit. I failed pretty badly in my last go around in November, 2015; I got a 66 using the Ninja products (book, notes, and MCQ). I was trending an 89 in the MCQs, and I did about 1,600 MCQs.

    I still have not received my lame-ass break down showing how I did in the different parts, but I know one of areas of weakness is understanding how exactly an Audit takes place and the importance of the different steps at the different stages in the Audit.

    I am a career tax guy, I have never worked in “accounting” or “audit” and for this exam I went about learning the exam questions, but not necessarily what an audit is and what it entails. If that makes sense.

    My question to you wonderful folks is what is the best and most efficient book to learn this – to learn what an audit is and what exactly it entails. I am leaning towards Wiley, but would really like some other peoples’ opinions.

    Thanks,

    all i used was ninja book and mcq's but i did over 5000 mcqs and all of the sims. the book aligns perfectly with the question sections. i read a section, did new mcq's until i had seen and answered all correctly. then did review sessions of all sections up to that point, first by chapter, then pulled in preceding chapters as i progressed.
    one other tip: print the home page of the standards for each type of engagement. the standards are listed in the order of activity to be performed. knowing the sequence is key to understanding.
    i had no audit background, just one undergrad class. and if you follow the sequence of the books with the questions it does start to sink in.
    why spend more money when you have all that you need or more than the cost of mcq renewal. right now you will also get free blitz – i forget expiration date for that.

    I used Becker. It's straightforward and I found it to be really useful. I don't like Becker for REG though…

    FAR | 81 - July 21 15
    REG | 66 - Oct 1 15 | 87 - Jan 7 16
    AUD | 90 - Oct 29 15
    BEC | 86 - Nov 25 15

    big K, dear young player, I think Audit is the only exam you can not pass even if you do 10,000 mc questions. You have to really understand the logic to it, and there is not a better professor than Roger to help you understand it. I don't know if he sucks for BEC yet, but hands down, he is the Audit guru of the CPA exam.

    FAR= 72-84
    Audit= 73-82
    BEC= 74-75
    Reg=77
