I know at the end of the day, it depends on the quality time the individual spend studying. But, no one can deny a good review course makes a difference. I see every review course making the claim, they have 80%+ pass rate. What course did you use and did you pass on your 1st try ?

I select Roger because his teaching style works for me, I will know shortly if if translates into passing on my 1st try 😉

Roger CPA Review + Ninja Audio + Wiley Test Bank+Ninja MCQ

    FAR PASSED 7/14
    AUD 72(2x)- 8/2014, Rematch 04/15
    REG 02/2015
    BEC 06/2015

I fell for the pass rate claim the fisrt time. I started in 2011 using Becker, and only passed 1 exam out of 4 or 5. Followed their plan to a T. Life threw me a couple curve balls that took up all my study time, and I lost my REG credit.

Since Becker expires, I decided to attempt a different avenue, and purchased the Wiley 2013 Complete Package. This included books, focus notes, and test banks for each section at less than $500! I passed 3 out of 4 between October 2013 and February 2014.

Each review company can claim 80%, 85%, or even 90% pass rates. However, NASBA has sent out pass rates for each exam, and the average is consistently around 50%. It all boils down to YOU!

    CPA EXAM: DONE!!!!
    Ethics Course: Passed
    Application Mailed: 3/16/15
    Professional Conduct Exam: 97
    Certification Date: 4/2/15!!!

I am using CPA excel, took my first section today, audit, and I feel like it prepared me pretty well, I had seen a lot of the questions before. But, I will wait to really review CPAexcel after I 1.actually see my score and 2. take the other parts!

Don't worry about pass rates. Focus on what you think works best for you . If that's Rogers, great!!

I passed BEC and AUD using Becker and REG using Rogers. I felt like Rogers did a great job with REG because he made what would otherwise be really boring and dry material, entertaining. Tax isn't one of my weaknesses so I was able to keep up with his fast paced style and really hard to understand writing/scribbling. I also used Rogers for FAR and failed miserably. I loathe financial accounting so his style was just way too hard to keep up with because I needed a lot of extra help. I did 2000+ MCQs in the Wiley test bank and failed with a 64. I sat through the test practically in tears because I felt completely blindsided. Now, I'm using Becker for FAR and I have already identified multiple areas that I didn't understand thoroughly which contributed to me failing. I feel much more prepared and I'm only 40% of the way through the material. ‘

Really, it depends on your learning style but I would say Becker is the most organized and easy to follow, and they really make it understandable.

AUD: PASSED [81]; Expired, retaking August 23rd
BEC: PASSED [83]; Expired, retaking July 11th
    REG: PASSED [83]
FAR: FAILED [64]; Retaking May 23rd

As has been said, ignore pass rates. It's cool you connected with a particular review course, but in the end, know what is in the Wiley books and hit MCQ's. Also, you made a great choice in getting Ninja combo.

    Good luck!
