Which is more efficient: Stick with 1 or Move on? (GOing into REG for 3rd time!)

    Hi all!

I have failed Regulations twice and both scoring in the low 60. So i have clearly not “mastered” this information. should I study until october again or study aud/bec in the mean time? is it best to just stick to 1 and not jump around?

Since i already paid for aud and am planning to sit at the end of the month, its OK to just move it back and i will not lose $ on it right?

I am currently using Becker. Do you think its time for new material AKA. NINJA!? I used it for FAR (i failed that one pathetically) and did not really find it amazzing as everyone here says….but I’m willing to give it a second chance if it will help me with reg!

Any tips for my 3rd try at Reg?

    Thx

If you already scheduled AUD through Prometric for this month, you'll have to pay a $35 (?) fee to push it back since it's within 30 days of today's date. If it's still on your NTS and you haven't scheduled it, then, yeah, no problems.

I would recommend buying some sort of access to an alternate test bank. I'm not sure what's out there besides Wiley and NINJA but you need exposure to new questions, nonetheless.

    FAR: May 1st, 2014 - 91
    AUD: May 29th, 2014 - 97!
    BEC: July 16th, 2014 - 91
    REG: August 29th, 2014 - 88

I feel like I got kind of lucky on REG, but my tip is do all the Becker multiple choice until you score 90% and the SIms before buying new material. I would then move on to a budget test bank like Wiley, Ninja(havn't tried it), CPAReviewfor free, and the AICPA free questions. Roger also has an app with questions on it for $50.

The theme of the night for me is that its better to stick with one exam. You have up to 9 months to take Audit and can reschedule for free as long as it is before a month. It only cost $35 to reschedule 5 days in advance. If you have not passed a single exam you are better off knocking out a monster like REG than walking away from that 60%REG retention you have worked hard to obtain. That 60% knowledge will be 40% retention in two weeks and then 20% retention in a month. It is helpful to read a book on memory while going through this CPA process. After you read one you will realize that jumping exam to exam is the worst thing you can do.

    Good Luck!

Passed all 4 exams in 2014!

I failed FAR then moved on to REG right away. I'm actually saving FAR for last. After feeling down about failing I wanted to study and learn some fresh, new material.
