Yaeger will get you over the hump. Yaeger will review hundreds of multiple choice questions. That is the secret.
I failed FAR with Becker and Gleim. Yaeger is the best for FAR. I passed FAR on the second try with Yaeger.
Additionally, I passed REG and BEC on the first try with Yaeger.

Thank you 75 CPA
Don't know exactly what yaeger include. I understood that Yaeger include Willey book and video lecture. What kind of video lecture?
Also, on my first two FAR exam I was stronger in MC and weaker in sim and comm. Does yaeger cover sim and comm ? Many candidates told me that Becker is the best.
Yaeger is a teaching course. Becker is a review course.
Order "Gleim Online." You will get 20 simulations to work, plus Gleim Test Prep. Gleim is great for those who have finished a course and still are having problems answering questions and doing simulations. This is especially true for Becker students who did not have the advantage of Yaeger reviewing hundreds of multiple choice questions in the Wiley book. New to Gleim is a diagnostics test to see where you are, and a practice test after you finish all 20 chapters. After you finish the practice test from Gleim Online, you can trasition to Gleim Test Prep to work on your weak areas that were identified in in the practice exam. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
evianos try yaeger its the best... i passed reg without even reading and only by watching lectures....seriously could u pass the other reviews y not reading???? i dont think so!!!
Thank you guys for sharing some of your experience with me. This help me a lot.
About Becker. Are Becker sudy materials from amazon (2010 edition ) same as Becker offer?
Becker!
I haven't read or watched any other materials, but Becker is awesome! I passed all in my first try in a short amount of time (take a look at my signature for more details)
Most people bash on Becker saying that it is too expensive since the whole package is close to $3000. But if you put it in perspective, your time is worth much more than that! the sooner you pass, the sooner you will make that money back. I got lucky because my big4 paid for it, but if I had to buy it with my own money, I would buy it anyways.
Good luck
I had both Becker and Yaeger for all four CPA exams. If you have not used Yaeger for FAR, REG and BEC, you do not know what you are missing. Yaeger gives you the biggest bang for the buck. I relied more on Yaeger than Becker to pass. I always finished 100% of Yaeger, but I never finished 100% of Becker. Becker always made more sense AFTER I finished Yaeger. Becker makes a nice #2 review course after Yaeger. Becker reviews and Yaeger teaches!

Three years ago I passed BEC, AUD and REG using Becker. Then I died on FAR and quit trying.
One thing that always disturbed me about Becker was the pace they expected.
So this time I bought:
Gleim and started with BEC.
It soon became evident that I was taking too much time trying to decipher practical (math) problems as laid out in the material.
I purchased Yaeger and the video lectures have made all the difference. Cindy Simpson walks you through multiple problems with a down to earth strategy such that you actually understand what is going on. Understanding makes for huge confidence on the exam!!
Also, you can go back and review just that portion of the video that pertains to a specific problem. What an incredible tool.
I still use the Gleim MCQ’s to supplement the Wiley questions used by Yaeger. Gleim questions tend to be a bit more involved that Wiley and adding them to the mix gives you an extra layer of preparation for the exam.

Thank you very much for your help and for your advices.
@Elise you are very smart that you passed an exam only watching video, but
I am not that kind of person. Congratulation!!!

I am not here to bash Becker. Both Becker and Yaeger have their place in passing these exams. If you understand the material, all you need is a review course like Becker. Becker is high speed and low drag. If you need to understand the material, you need Yaeger. Unfortunately, most of us do not realize that we do not understand the material until we fail using Becker. I was one of those people. I could not have made it without Yaeger!
I only had a correspondence course for audit. Until I learned the material, Becker was useless. College was about understanding. These CPA exams are about understanding the call of the question. That is where Yaeger shines!

Have you identified strengths and weaknesses from the performance analysis for each exam?
You were so close each time. If you are consisentently strong in an area -- attempt to find 2-3 things to learn that will bring up your score. For an area that you are weaker than the average person who passed the test find 5 - 6 things to learn to bring your score up. Target both your strong and weak points until you can get the needed extra points might be an effective way to beat the beast!.
Take the progress tests and the final exams.
Buy an additional test bank of questions
You are so very close - I know you can do it!
cpa journey, thank you. Which progress and final test are you talking about.
Weaker part is sim and comm. I think that I should find out how to answer to research tabs. Answering to research tabs will increase my score with 2 points and also will help me to give a better answer to comm part. Also, I need to improve my speed in solving mcq. I always need about 1 hour for second and third testlet. If I will be able to finish them with 5 - 7 min earlier, time available for sim, will increase.
cpa journey Good post!
Gleim online made it very easy to pinpoint my weaknesses. Their diagnostic tests and practice exam line up exactly with the AICPA scores that you get when you fail an exam. I was then able to drill down to the paragraphs where I was having trouble. Gleim was not this good a few years ago!
Dividing up the material into the AICPA areas was also very evident in AUD where Yaeger, Wiley, Lambers and Roger all divide up their material into the five AICPA areas. There was only one course that jumbled all the material together so that you could not compare the material with the AICPA scores. That course was Becker.

Gleim online comes with Gleim Test Prep. Please buy it. Gleim will increase your speed in answering questions. All 20 multiple choice question testlets are timed. Additionally, Gleim Online comes with 20 simulations that include 20 communications.
If you need to understand the material better, I have found that Yaeger is best for FAR, REG and BEC. Lambers is best for AUD. I have tried just about every review course and I have spent $15,000 in the process. I now know what review materials to eliminate, but it is a little late for me.

I used both Becker and Gleim test bank. A few days before the exam I spent time just answering Gleim MC after MC questions then I answered Becker. After that I took the Becker progress and final exams and researched weak areas. During this proess I stufying about three weaker topics that showed up on the exam. Time well spent.
Your plan to be better prepared for MC to have more time for sims and communication is a good idea.
Communication - keep your responses clear and concise and use the key words that the graders want to see. I read the question and then do some tabs. I am thinking about the communication in the back of my mind. Then just answer it and proof read and finish the test. Stay in the moment.
I don't think the research question is worth a lot of points. You may find it easier to increase the MC and communication points.
Good luck!
Ive done quite well using Becker, but some people say its more of a review course and this may be true for why it works for me. As for me...I'm about 1.5 years out of college and went straight into public auditing, so most of my financial account (FAR), basic business concepts (BEC), and auditing knowledge (AUD), tests have gone really well using becker considering all the material for these tests is either what I did within the last 1-2 years or is what I'm currently doing and half of it is almost like common sense to me at this point. For those who are not as fresh on the topics, maybe something more in depth such as the guy above me saying Yaeger. Though I do feel Becker goes into great detail on a lot of the topics, more than I need at times so its not just a review course either. Every person needs a different program for them...there is no 1 best program. Becker is pretty straight forward, watch the lectures, highlight what they do, do all the MC questions for each chapter, then review the underlined stuff a few days b4 the test and do some more problems.
