    -Banking, capital market, and insurance.

    -Real estate.

    -SALT.

I previously chosed Banking and got the confirmation. However today they called and told me that they probably would arrange me to RE or SALT group (not decided yet).

I really wish to stay what I chosed. But i want to know the things i am about to get into.

    Thank you for ur advice.

That's because banking and capital markets is one of the most popular industries and everyone asks to be on those engagements. Did you get to interview with anyone in the banking and capital markets? If so I would reach out to them directly to see if they have any pull to get you on their projects.

If you are stuck with real estate or SALT, definitely go with real estate. SALT is a career death trap.

Hi, thank for your reply. I do have certain PwC connections with Banking exp. However, they were used to be in the Banking team. Some of them transferred to other nations' PwC offices. I will definitely try to contact them as you suggested.

SALT is definitely at the bottom of my list. Actually, my goal is to be a tax attorney in general controversy resolution practice. SALT exp could be helpful since it is also about settling tax controversy. But I can't risk my future because becoming an attorney may be just an illusion to me.

Anyway, thank you for your time!

I'm starting in B4 real estate tax next month where I had my internship and I enjoyed it. The exit opps are there especially with REITs. Real estate company deals and structures are very tax driven so thats a plus. Real estate is in my family so maybe I am naturally inclined to it but I am definitely happy with it!

Actually I prefer the industry group which leads to different kinds of taxpayers. However, my targeted starting date is Winter 2015, and clearly I didn't have many choices. Banking previously seemed to be my no.1 option other than RE. But if PwC made its decision and moved me to RE group super day, I will also be ok with that. Like u, I like REIT too, and I believe RE has its potential when the economy goes up (clearly, it will in the near future).
