Who else is studying for their last section?

I just started studying for AUD yesterday (retake, lost credit) and my motivation is nowhere to be found. I am waiting on my BEC score (also a retake) and I feel somewhat confident that I did well enough to pass so this is hopefully my last section. I am taking audit on August 28th and pushing it back isn’t an option because I lose credit for REG the same day I’m taking AUD. I just have no motivation right now! The material isn’t hard because I’ve been in audit for over 3 years now and I already passed this exam once but it’s SO dry. All I can hear is Tim Gearty’s voice saying “again, again, highlight this, alright scholars, again”. I love Becker and its helped me pass all of the sections but seriously, the audit material is so boring. Not to mention, work is insanely busy right now which is really distracting. I just hope that I somehow black out the month of August and manage to get it done and then wonder for the rest of my life, how I accomplished it!

    Taking AUD on Aug 25th.

I haven't watched a lecture since passing REG (my first exam). Way too boring. I started vacuuming during a lecture and realized… “This isn't working for me.”

    REG - 94
    BEC - 92
    FAR - 92
    AUD - 99

I have passed 3 parts and am taking BEC again, got a 73 on my last one and that felt like someone pulled my heart out. I have to take it sometime in August and if I fail I will be back at halfway done due to audit expiration.

Opening up my BEC book to start studying again after missing by 2 points was really, really tough – your story sounds a lot like mine and I am really having trouble getting motivated. It seems like it should be the other way around since i'm so close but I am totally drained of this damn exam.

I want my lunches, time with my 3 kids (I forget their names) and my weekends back but just have to clear this one last hurdle. Happy studying to you and best wishes on your exams.

I'm more than likely studying for my last section. Now, I'm a tax guy and I really appreciate some of these topics, but occasionally it gets very dense. And boring. And then I spend four hours watching Youtube videos instead of studying.

    FAR: May 1st, 2014 - 91
    AUD: May 29th, 2014 - 97!
    BEC: July 16th, 2014 - 91
    REG: August 29th, 2014 - 88

I sit for my last section in 11 days and 8 minutes…..not that I'm counting. I am so ready to be done with this. I only just realized that this may finally be over and I will have to relearn what normal people do. I honestly can't remember what I did with all the extra time.

I have, hopefully, my last section on 08/15 and i'm no where near ready! I'm usually getting ready for final review at the 2 week mark and I'm not even done reading yet. I'm on chapter 4 of 6.

I think i'm going to try to get through these chapters, do the mcqs, buy ninja notes and start copying. If I had the time to push my date back i would but i'll be in the middle of work travel at that point 🙁

    AUD - 65, 89!
    REG - 70, 89!
    FAR - 78!
    BEC - 77!

    Finally!

i took study leave to take my final FAR exam last month and ended up doing other stuff with my time than studying because i was so over it and resented taking all of my vacation time to study for two years. now i've got one shot before AUD expires….and you'll note below how i should feel about AUD. i didn't think it was any harder than others so i'm hoping my experience will help me pass again if i need to but i am not looking forward to it. SEE, why do i allow this negativity? I JUST NEED TO GET IT DONE. but it's gone. the motivation is just BLEH.

    but let's do this, though guys…………! -______-

Good luck everyone! I wish I could just skip the lectures altogether because they're horrible but I just do better when I do everything in order- my brain is too type A, I guess 🙂 I am so ready to have my weekends and lunches back too. I study for two hours at lunch in a conference room and then 3-4 hours after work, plus 12-14 hours on the weekends. Over it

@ amanda, hopefully I'm on my last Exam also if I pass REG (tba in ~75 hours, it was 72 hours but I changed it to 75 because “75” looks better). I've been studying since Jan so my level of enthusiasm isn't what it used to be as it's mid-summer/score-release week. I'm banking on next Monday to study hard for 8/27 exam date. I usually get amped up about 2 weeks before exam date so hopefully that kicks in too. Personally, if I earned a passing score this Friday, I will definitely be more motivated to finish my last exam. You have an even greater call as your REG credit is up for grabs. That alone should boost your motivation. Another motivation for me is Football season/Thanksgiving/Christmas. Yes, they're all around the corner, and I do not want to be studying while managing my fantasy football team and catching holiday shopping deals.

I do understand that you're in the field of AUD, and you've passed that section with a great score so it isn't too intimidating. Odds are in your favor. I have zero AUD experience and had a bad experience with AUD professors in college. I studied for approx. 6 weeks because I felt comfortable enough to take it, and Memorial weekend helped push for an earlier sit. I end up passing =). I think you should be fine with both work and exam experience, and the time left for studying. IMO, you could probably study 1-2 hours 3/4 weekdays, and 3-4 hours per day on the weekends until 2 weeks before you sit and increase the studying time by 50%. Good luck! Hopefully we'll both celebrate by the end of this testing window.

    F: Apr 14' Passed
    A: May 14' Passed
    R: Jul 14' Passed
B: Aug 14' Rematch in Oct *Passed*

Good luck to all! Hopefully my last exam will be on the 8th (come on score release) and it will be amazing to finally be free of these awful tests!

Is anyone planning anything special for when they get their final passing score?

    B: 84
    A: 8/8/2014
    R: 7/11/2014
    F: 84

I took what will hopefully be my last exam part yesterday and I have no freaking clue how I did. I expected to walk out of the testing center and feel so relieved and ready to move on but now I feel like I am in limbo mode- did I pass? Did I fail? I kind of don't know what to do with myself. I spent all of last evening looking over everyone's audit exam experiences for the last two years (please people, don't leave us hanging- post your score!! :)) and I still don't know what to expect on 8/21. I am, by nature, a little bit of an obsessive- so the next 23 days are going to be pure misery.

@ClosestPointofApproach- I received a 73 on BEC in November and it was sweet, sweet revenge to get that 81 in May- you can do it!

And while I was studying for Audit for past 6 weeks- I was like a woman possessed. I did nothing but study- not typical for me on the other parts. But I so want to be done…… it was all I could think about.

I'm also studying for my last section (AUD) which I'm taking on Thursday (7/31). I need to pass because I think I will go insane if I have to listen to Gearty with his “again” again! Motivation, however, is lacking but I just took Practice exam #1 and did pretty well so I think I can muscle through until Thursday!

    FAR - 93 (YAY!!!!)
    REG - 93 (Double YAY!)
    BEC - 87 (Whew!)
    AUD - 96 (DONE!!!!!)

If I passed two sections whose scores I'm currently waiting for, I'll be studying for my last section. But I'll probably fail one or both of them, so I'm probably posting in this thread prematurely…

Personally, the thought that the last section might be my last is a major motivator for me.

    AUD: 88
    BEC: 79
    REG: 81
    FAR: 72 » 74 » 88

Study method: 100% watching videos, including solving problems covered therein; no books, paper, or pencils

I need to go distract myself with something else- the stress is getting to me!

    BEC 81
    REG 81
    FAR 76
    AUD 76

    Done Forever!!
