I got consecutive 74s on BEC Q1 and Q2 (not this release though) … so I totally feel your pain.

Almost always from my phone... please excuse my typos!

Then they'd just give everyone 69's instead of 74's.

When you make it to the other side, you'll want to keep passing scores at 75. Got to keep barriers to entry difficult to drive up demand for our services.

    Stay strong, you'll get there.

MCHAMMER… So that would be an Oligopolistic market?? Guess, that was stupid but that is true. If everyone or anyone can pass then the demand for the profession would go down which means the pay would also go down. 🙂 Best of luck TXCPA! You can do it! I failed Audit too back in Feb.

They really just need to make this exam pass/fail and stop with these random numbers that don't actually represent anything to anybody. A 73 doesn't mean you're “close” and a 96 (unless you got four of them) means nothing.

If you pass, regardless of a 75 or a 95 its a great accomplishment and if you fail regardless of whether its a 74 or a 47 you're still effectively in the same spot when it comes to a retake and your first try being irrelevant toward your second.

back when my dad took the CPA exam he said they gave no failing 70's.. either a 69 (nice) or a 75

Right on mla! A 71 or a 30 means essentially the same. Better yet I got a better breakdown than one of my buddy yet his score was higher but still failed (73) whereas I got in the high 60's.. Who knows how they grade these exams. These numbers mean nothing and is not representative of how much you know if you don't get a 75. Keep trying is all we can do.

I got a 70 in AUD too for Q2. It was my first time taking that section and I have no experience, so I was proud of myself. I'll take it again in July or very early August after I take FAR.

AUD 70 - 05/16 (I'll try again in early August)
    FAR TBD - 07/16
    REG TBD - 08/16
    BEC TBD - 11/16

    Thanks guys! Yeah, I couldn't believe I got a 70. I got a 61 the first time in audit. .

    I feel defeated. :/

    #780845

    I 100% disagree that a 73 doesn't mean anything. I got a 73 and I got a 76 on BEC. I retook the exam without studying again. Enough said.
