Just heard from someone who talked to Geneva at NASBA, the WI rep, and supposedly they aren't releasing any scores until the first week of January... one would hope that is incorrect because that is ridiculous if we have to wait that long...

offlineMemberYikes. It looks like I need to try to just put it out of my head until after the holidays. It sure would be nice to know whether I should be using this time to study for the re-test, though.
It's one thing to have technical problems in getting the scores posted, but it's reprehensible to just sit on them once they've been released.

offlineMemberI completely agree. I am waiting on my last two exam scores and could be using this time to study before busy season if I didnt pass... It'd be nice to know why WI waits to release scores all at once and why we have to be the last ones to receive our scores...

offlineMemberIn my opinion, it can only be laziness that keeps WI from releasing with everyone else. It must take time to upload the scores four different times and the employees would rather surf the internet and just do it once. I feel that not only should those of us studying for the exam be upset here in WI, but so should the rest or WI residents. For some of us this score could be our last one, and many CPA firms around the state pay out a bonus. Some of these can exceed $5,000. I know quite a few people just out of college who plan to make some pretty significant purchases once they receive that bonus. It may not be a ton of money but in a down year and in a slow economy, a couple $5,000 bonus being spent around the state definitely wouldn't hurt.

offlineMemberHow pathetic is it that WI needs our own forum to discuss when we get our score. Everyone else will be done studying before we got ours. Maybe Geneva should consider doing something positive for her career, ie making this process more efficient rather than wasting her time holding all our careers back!

offlineMemberI guess I don't totally follow how WI works. I received my BEC score earlier this month. If it's true that WI waits until all scores are in, does that mean we may receive the scores via regular mail before they're even posted online? I took my exam the first week in October...

offlineMemberI do. I'm hoping that the info above isn't correct...I understand there was probably a new simluation on the exam, but 13 weeks for it to be graded? Maybe they should consider re-thinking how the grading process works. It would certainly make it more difficult for those of us working 70+ hours per week from January through mid-April to get all tests in during the 18 month window if you don't pass the last one.

Also, why would it be January that we receive scores if all have been released now? You would think it would be either tonight, tomorrow, or early next week at the latest...no?

offlineMemberNo kidding... and the exam is computerized...could it possibly be that hard? I would like to know if I didn't pass so I can prepare to take it before busy season if I need to. The longest it has taken for any of my other scores is 10 weeks, so I'm like shocked that the scores are not out yet. Frustrating, to say the least.

offlineMember07STI - Sure, take a look at the other forums. You will see that WI is the only state that holds all scores until all four sections are in. As for not receiving them until January, that did not come from me. Someone else posted that in the FAR forum. They said they talked to Geneva who is the WI Nasba rep. I am still holding out hope we receive them before Christmas. If they made us wait until after that would be down right cruel.

offlineMemberOkay, I'll just keep checking. I might email Geneva tomorrow and lay into her a little. Not to be mean, but just let her know that we're all a little frustrated and would like an idea on the timing. I've emailed her in the past and the majority of the time she doesn't even respond.

offlineMemberThat's not a bad idea...the worst part is not the waiting longer than other states, rather it is not knowing why. I don't understand why NASBA's WI rep can't just give us an explanation of why they wait until all scores are in. If we get Jeff on our side he might be able to put some presure on WI to fall in line with the other states or at least explaining their logic!

offlineMemberEven if we can get enough people emailing Geneva, or someone above her, it wouldn't hurt for getting something in motion to get scores more timely. It really doesn't make any sense.
Forgive me, but I'm just picturing someone receiving all the scores for the respective sections and just sitting their playing games on their computer. The scores are piling up in their inbox (email or actual mailbox), until they decide to "get around" to posting the scores. Every time they get an email they just get annoyed that we're bothering their game playing, or whatever it is they do.

offlineMemberI'm starting to regret finding this website. I was really hoping to get my score tonight and know whether REG is my final section on January 4th. Now I'll continue checking for my score instead of focusing on REG...Lost credit for REG, which is the very first exam I took and the only exam I've studied more than 75% of the material :) Anyway, I'm logging off for the night. Good luck to the fellow WI people. Hopefully we hear by tomorrow night, as you know there will be no one loading scores in our great state on Thursday.

offlineMemberI would bet that no one, including those who handle the scores, knows why Wisconsin does it this way. Very often, procedures are followed for the sole reason that they have always been done that way. The original reasons have been lost, and the individuals responsible just blindly follow precedent.

Hi Geneva:
Can you please narrow down the date that we will be able to view our CPA exam scores on the NASBA website? From what I understand, we are the only NASBA state that hasnt received a single wave 2 score at this point. If it were the same in all states I would understand, but when Wisconsin is the only state that has not received a single score it becomes a little frustrating. I took FAR on October 6 and will lose credit for AUD in February. This makes it difficult to re-register and schedule an exam in time when we wait over 11 weeks to receive a score. Is there someone we can talk to about the lack of timeliness, so future candidates do not have the same issues?
