oh...Wisconsin BOA is going to love me :)
Nevermind...they already know about the site...
http://www.wicpa.org/Content/BecomeaCPA/UniformCPAexam.aspx
I'm not calling them out - I just don't think it should be this way...for a NASBA state to withhold scores when they are vetted and readily available.
Absolutely right.
To be honest, this was the only credible way for me to show we're the only NASBA state not releasing scores when they are received. If I just said, "Wisconsin is the only NASBA state that hasn't released scores," she would probably say that I don't have proof or ask where I heard it. We would start a p*ssing match that would probably turn real ugly, real fast.
I apologize to you if you'd prefer for this website not to be brought to their attention, but I'd like for them to change their ways, even if it's not during the time I'm taking exams.
I just want to know whether FAR is done so I just need to pass REG for the second time to get this thing out of the way :)
No biggie - hope it gets changed!
Still no response from our friend Geneva...
I got confirmation from Wisconsin that scores will not be released until first week of January. Sorry :(
How is that possible if they have all the scores arleady? Can anyone provide a phone number to call to discuss this with someone "above" Geneva?
I guess we'll receive the scores via regular mail before the end of the month anyway...If the scores have been released, I'm assuming they would have been mailed recently.
Not sure who is above her
Just want to say thanks Jeff for the statement you added regarding WI being the last state to release scores as well as for asking for an explanation from Madison! It means a lot that you use the success you've achieved building this site to help us get answers!
Come on if people at public accounting firms are working today so can the WI Nasba people this is BS!
Has anyone heard anything?
Nothing...any clue when the mailed results will come?
I still haven't heard anything. I sent another email to Geneva.
I wish they could at least give us a date! I mean, we need to know early January if we have to retake our last section or not. I don't know about everyone else but if I can't retake the first two weeks of January, I'm going to have to wait until April because March is closed and the rest of January and Feb. is the middle of busy season! Why can't someone from WI NASBA go on this site once a day and just post something to keep us up to date and apprised of the situation? I don't think that is too much to ask?
And somehow she's too busy to take 20 seconds to respond to my emails....interesting
She e-mailed me back and this is what she said:
"Scores for WI will be released the first week of January."
And that was it. So good luck to everyone. I guess at this point, what's another few days? But still - super annoying!
I never received an email response from the emails I sent directly to her. However, she responded to the one I sent to through the NASBA website (in the Wisconsin section). This is what she said -
"Scores are in the process of being released. Per the State Board, scores are not to be released until all scores have been received and they have been notified."
Thanks for the great info Geneva...We HAVE to be in the slowest state.
I wonder if the AICPA can do anything?
It seems clear that this is a Wisconsin Accounting Examining Board policy, and so they are the ones to talk to. But I personally wouldn't want to complain to them until I am officially licensed. You know, I don't want to burn any bridges. I wonder if there is anyone here with nothing to fear from them who would be able to send a note?
Snail mail states like WV are in the same boat.
Maybe it's a W thing.
Well, it's not like they can withhold licensing you because you want to improve or question the score release process.
Based on the email response I received, it's entirely possible that we would never receive scores. If, for example, the AICPA lost an exam score, the state of Wisconsin would not release any scores because they will not release any scores until all scores have been received...Seems a little weird to me.
It's really frustrating for those of us who took the exam in early October and know the scores were released over a week ago.
Does the state release the scores via regular mail as well, or does the AICPA mail them? I was just curious if we would receive scores via regular mail before they are posted online?
My score is up!!!! 93!! I'm done! Wisconsin folks, check your scores!
Passed REG! Only audit left on January 4th!!!!!!
wow. wonder what got them to change their minds on posting the scores?!? so glad they posted them though -- another passing score for me. what a great feeling.
Well, it's the end of March and here we are waiting for our scores again while everyone else already knows what they got. Is anyone else in WI waiting?
I'm also waiting for my score. It hopefully will be the last time I'll have to suffer through waiting for my score! It is ridiculous that we have to wait so long in WI knowing that almost everyone else already has their score! I'll be right there waiting with you sleeplessinWI. Hopefully they will be up soon, but my guess is next Wednesday or Friday. They always seem to post on Fridays or the last day of the month.
