I failed AUD on my first attempt using Wiley text book and test bank.

I purchased Yaeger video lectures as the most recommended material .. But after watching Yeager lectures and then trying to test my understanding through solving Wiley test bank I get 60-65% which is really bad means i didnt understand anything and no matter how i repeat solving the MCQ’s i get same result .. it just takes a hard effort. like yaeger didn’t cover the necessary amount of material through his video lectures thats why i couldn’t solve the test bank . do i have to switch into another review course ? and i know if i re-read the question in the test bank and dig the answer in the book i will understand and it will work eventually but it will waste more time and i will never be able to finish the material in a short period so please help me .. anyone used any material and it was good enough that you were able to get good results on wiley test bank or got you to pass the cap exam just tell me i will appreciate every response. thank you

I used Yaeger for audit and I thought that Gary did a good job of going over the material. I have not received my score yet but if I dont pass its not because they did a terrible job its because of my lack of truly understanding the material. I took notes during the lecture and then when I did questions in the Wiley testbank I wrote down the ones I got incorrect and the ones that I guessed on. I have used other review programs and I have to say they don't all go over every single thing you are tested on. You might find yourself going back and reading the book because you might have a question on something that was not covered in the lecture but is in the book. There is no way that the review instructors can hit on every single topic. We would have to spend hours watching the lectures. Make sure you understand the concepts and if you don't feel like Gary covered everything then go back and read the text. Good luck with your exam!.

I am so ready for this nightmare to be over. Been at this way too long.

I don't really think there is a shortcut or a way to understand the material without a significant amount of time and effort put into studying. Unless you have prior experience in one of the areas the only way is to study diligently, including a solid understanding of the questions you are missing in WTB.

Yaeger does an exceptional job covering the material with AUD. I don't think you need a new course, you just need to put a lot of energy into the material you already have.

Best wishes and good luck! Don't give up!

I also use Yaeger and had the same concerns.

The instructors say that the questions in the WTB aren't necessarily representative of the actual exam in terms of number of questions on a particular topic. For example, in the WTB you might get several questions about single-step income statements, but only one or none on the actual CPA exam. When that is the case, the instructors spend very little time on the subject or just skip it all together. They tell you that if you're faced with a topic they didn't cover in the lectures, it's probably safe to just skip it in the WTB because chances are you won't see it on the exam.

I used Yaeger and passed all the exams on one shot.

The lectures do cut some of the stuff out and won't mention some of the things that the text book and test bank will go through. They really just go through the meat the exam, telling you what you must know to pass the exam and try to cut the fat out of the lectures. They mentioned a few times in their lectures that they're here to get you to pass the exam, not get a perfect score. Not sure if Gary says it during his AUD lectures, but I know Cindy points it out multiple times during FAR and Phil maybe once or twice.

Just gotta keep grinding out the MCQs and write down little notes here and there you pick up along the way that you might have missed. The questions from the test bank aren't true representation of the actual questions from the exams, but they do train you to keep you on your toes and encourage you to look out for details, and try to help form your thought process.

The lectures are really only there to help you get started. It takes a lot of repetition to really pound the details into your head. Don't let the scores from the test bank scare you, I know struggled through MCQs also. They're there to help you to continue your learning of the subjects, not as the end to everything. Keep your head up and keep going,

I would agree with the things being said by others. Yaeger points out the most important information and may skip over the rest. I take time to read over the stuff they skip on my own.

No, you are not alone, and yes, it does take a lot of effort and time to go through all of the material and then study the MCQ's. Unfortunately, there's no way around it. If you have a job, or even if you don't, I would suggest using Jeff's ELL plan (Early, Late, Lunch).

60-65% actually means you understand a good bit…probably more than a number of other testtakers. It does take a LOT of effort….all of us can testify to that..I also use Yaeger and think Gary did a great job on Audit…don't worry so much about “wasting time.” This is not a contest, its your future. Cutting corners is likely to get you a failing grade regardless of the review course you use. Make sure you read the explanation for ALL the questions you get wrong and make sure you make notes on those questions.YES, this will take extra time but you will see it will be worth it as you will start to understand the concepts better. NO review course is a golden ticket to passing the exam. Also, maybe AUD is your “beast.” I'm not sure if this is your first test or not but you need to adapt accordingly…I just took AUD and studied completely different for it than I did for FAR…be active on A71…there are a LOT of great people on this board with awesome advice…for FAR and AUD I read every single exam experience post and study board post and learned a TON!! Anyways, good luck in your studies!! If you want this bad enough, you will make it happen!!
